I love this Sephora! On 5.10.24 my boyfriend and I went into the Tempe Marketplace location to shop for Haus Foundation, as I had seen after some research that it was good for acne prone skin. Marrisa was absolutely amazing helping me find my color and being so patient while I asked too many questions. I asked for her personal opinion on Haus was a good alternative for acne prone makeup and she agreed, explaining what some of the ingredients would do to boost my skins health. She also encouraged my interest in some other products and went through all sorts of colors and explained each and every one, how it matched my undertones etc. She never tried to push me onto other products or shame me for my interests. Thank you for taking the time! I know nothing about makeup so being so supportive of all my questions made me feel that much more confident❤️ There is an unfortunate part to this visit. I was approached by the Urban Decay sales rep who was AGRESSIVE and rude? She asked what foundation I was carrying around, and then criticized my choice, explaining that because I had oily skin that it would dry me out, and that it was not a good choice. She then proceeded to upsell Urban’s foundation of course, throwing around ingredient names but not elaborating on why they would help me?? Then went on and on and about how the foundation I picked would be impossible to look good on me unless I used setting powder on top for the oily skin, compared to the Urban’s foundation which has a mixed in powder. Look I get it, you’re being paid to sell a product and probably some commission on top. But by the time she let me speak, I felt belittled and stupid for my choice after all my positive experience with the AMAZING Marrisa. I can’t praise my bf enough for stepping in and gently making an excuse to walk us away. I don’t want this experience to keep me away from stopping in, but i definitely will be avoiding Fridays if that sales lady...
Read moreWorst service I have experienced at any Sephora ever and I have been a rouge memeber for almost a decade. Please don’t waste your time go to any other location in the valley!!! Honestly Never greeted once, there was atleast more than a dozen employees just standing on their phone. I had to approach someone twice to receive help I gave up on the third try and stopped shopping. Not to mention the lack of experience, I wanted to try a new foundation and asked someone she had no clue how to assist and physical looked annoyed I approached her, her face was a big giveaway. Once the second person came she was clueless too had to search on her device to only give me the opposite of recommendations I specifically requested. I tried to not be annoyed and simply said maybe how about you recommend something you know about she was short and said that’s what I’m looking up I had to tell her to forget it. You would think if you ask for an oil free medium coverage foundation she could atleast produce one option. I guess I’m just used to entering a Sephora being treated asked if I need help offered a basket and having people atleast try and give me a recommendation even if it’s not a perfect fit. This place was cold and it wasn’t just one employee it was 4, really pushes you to want to go shopping online instead. Will never be returning to...
Read moreCame to this location with my daughters right away we were spotted by employees because we had a stroller, one approached and asked if there was anything we needed help with? Said no we were just looking around. We walked to a different spot and another employee stopped us and asked if we needed help? We said no again and walked away. As we stood there deciding what product we wanted to buy/ look at this employee comes out of no where says hey really loud award and claps her hands at us we look at her and she ask the same question? Mind you there wasn’t anyone really in the store so all the employees can see each other and who they are talking to. She made us feel uncomfortable so my daughters left and I stayed awkwardly talking to the employee because I didn’t want to be rude which I should have just left with them. We went into the store with intentions of spending a decent amount of money between the 3 of us but never got that chance. The employees including the manager made us feel so uncomfortable that we won’t be back! I don’t have to steal anything from any stores I make way more money than any employee there including the managers. So do better Sephora stop making people feel uncomfortable in...
