Tempe-Mesa Mall — Attraction in Tempe

Rainy, cold overcast day. Wife and I went to waffle house for some lite fare. Upon entry, found no less than six (6) active workers on duty 'working'. One was a Fresh cook. Looking around, my wife noted that all of the Northside booths were filled, except one. The furthest from the door held one male college student with his laptop and no others in the booth with him. Aluminum chairs blocked all other booths and also prevented access to balance of the counter. A very thin young waitress was sweeping or washing the floor and told us that this entire section was closed. It would have sat at least 12. With 6+ people on duty, I didn't think it was two much to ask. The very rude, attitude laden manager said I would have to come back. Well, not thanks! My first time here. My friend and her daughter had been wanting to go here for years! Sat at short counter and got to see all the trash on the floor, dripping batter pails, pieces of paper and food, dirty.... GROSS! And staff just walking over it or standing there! They could easily cleaned up! I'm so surprised they aren't closed down!! I've worked in the restaurant business for over 40 yrs and never seen something so blatantly wrong with this place!! Sausage patties were overcooked and hard around the edges. We watched our waffles SIT out in the open for a while and got them COLD, soggy, super thin with a dot, and I mean a quarter of a lil square butter pat, on it! A very small amount of hash browns! I felt like I got a kids meal! AND THE PRICES ARE HIGH!! WHY!!??? Thee WORST breakfast place I've ever been...

Not too much of a fan of this plaza. It's hard to turn into from the busy roads and it's right next to the highway meaning it can get quite busy traffic-wise around it. Been here a few times for the donut spot- Hurts- yummy! It wasn't too awfully busy the too times I went but one time I came after work hours and the parking lot did get a bit crowded. Other than the donut spot, I really didn't see much else to do in this plaza. Saw a reptile...
