It was a very quiet Sunday afternoon when my husband and I visited this tasting room in Tin City. I wanted to try something different other than the typical reds found in Paso Robles. I prefer whites over reds. We got to try some unique wines such as the 40 day in skin orange wine, L'Orangerie, and a dry Riesling. I really don't care for Rieslings because I find them to be too sweet, but Union Sacré makes a delicious dry Riesling. You got to try it! We were very fortunate to have Xavier, the winemaker, walks us through our tastings. He is fantastic and very knowledgeable in his craft. He shared stories of his journey of becoming a winemaker, how he makes his wine, and the wonderful accident of creating Le Clandestine. He even gave us a quick tour of the backrooms where all the magic of winemaking happens.

We've visited Union Sacre multiple times and absolutely LOVE them! They always have a great selection, and are one of the few wineries in Paso that has good selection of white wines, but also has amazing reds. They also have some really fun and diverse varieties, and we love how elegant and balanced all of their wines are. They’re not your typical fruit/alcohol bombs. The owner/winemaker is French and super passionate, and there’s a good chance you'll get to meet him when you visit - which is sure to be a great time! No matter what - this is a must visit when you find yourself in Paso! Cheers!

We decided to check out Tin City on the spur of a moment and Union Sacré was our first choice. What an awesome find! Not only is their wine uniquely delish, the bottles and labeling beautiful, and the tasting room done with style, they are also lovely to talk to - whether you’re an enophile, novice or just a fan of wine. Got a few bottles and would definitely recommend, especially if you wanna experience something out of the ordinary.

My wife and I visited Union Sacre during the last week of March, shortly after the pandemic restrictions were eased. The tasting was conducted outside, with the tables appropriately spaced to adhere to the social distancing requirements and our server followed all of the appropriate safety protocols. We appreciated that they were willingly following the guidelines.

Union Sacre is a husband and wife team working out of a metal warehouse in an industrial park. It is one of those places that the winos want to boast of discovering to our friends. It is a hidden gem.

As for the wine, this little winery wasn't pouring the typical big and bold Cali red blends and the buttery Chardonnay, we had come to expect from California wineries. Instead we were treated to some of the lightest, most crisp and unique wines we had tasted in a very long time. We were particularly impressed with the carbonic Sangiovese and the l'Orangerie Gewurztraminer.

The Sangiovese is hard to describe in the usual wine related terms. It was less tannic, lighter in color, almost translucent. You can see the back side of the label while the wine is still in the bottle. It is a fun wine to swirl in the glass and watch it interact with the light. It is a wine for your eyes. The l'Orangerie is hands down a wine for your nose. It is very floral with a strong presence of orange blossoms. (thus name I suspect) My wife described it by saying it could be a "Jo Malone" perfume scent profile. Both of these wines I would describe as summertime patio wines. The type of wines you drink, just to enjoy the day while doing a whole lot of nothing sitting on your patio.

I guess the real test of any wine is would you buy it again? We did. We had a case shipped home. Since summer is rapidly approaching here in Texas, I probably need to have them ship me another...

This review has been YEARS in the making and we definitely should have made this sooner.

My husband and I have been drinking their wine since the start of Covid. In 2020 we were celebrating our dating anniversary, and happened to pick up a bottle of their wine. We liked it so much, we went back and bought all 4 bottles they had in stores. For the next few years, we would open these bottles on special, meaningful occasions to us (anniversaries, a birthday etc).

Then we got engaged and realized we did not have this wine to share on our wedding day. Cue calling grocery and liquor stores, distributors, and any place imaginable, no one had the specific year and wine we were looking for.

We reached out to them directly, and they were kind enough to check every place imaginable to see if they had it ANYWHERE, as they no longer make the wine, and they didn’t. However, they did find the next years wine to send us.

Union Sacre had a double meaning for us, a great wine to go with what we truly believe was a ‘sacred Union’ relationship, as cheesy and cliche as that sounds.

Our second wedding anniversary is coming up, and I happened to glance at a wine bottle we have kept and preserved from this winery and this level of care deserved to be recognized. A giant thank you for making a great wine and caring about those...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Union Sacre Winery, and I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience I had! From the moment I arrived, the customer service was outstanding. The staff welcomed us and made us feel right at home. They took the time to get to know us, sharing their passion for wine and guiding me through their tasting selections with great care. We loved hearing about their unique story and their journey in the wine industry.

As for the wine, we loved each one! We were impressed by their unique wines, which showcased the winemaker's creativity and attention to detail. You can truly taste the love and craftsmanship in every bottle!

The atmosphere was equally inviting. We enjoyed sipping wine on the patio, surrounded by beautiful views, which made the experience even more memorable.

Overall, Union Sacre Winery not only offers exceptional wines but also an unforgettable experience thanks to their incredible customer service. I left feeling inspired and can’t wait to return for...
