We are regular visitors to the Paso area, as well as Napa and Sonoma. We have been members of several wine clubs over the years and have a fairly extensive collection. We recently visited with 2 close friends, also experienced wine tasters and purchasers. This was day 3 of a 4 day visit, during which we visited old favorites and tried one new one each day. Let me start by saying that we prefer going to a winery that has ambiance, views of vineyards, etc. However, the temperature was nearing 100 degrees, so we were quite content to be in a lovely air conditioned tasting room. The experience was exceptional, regardless of being indoors vrs outdoors. We truly enjoyed the 1:1 attention provided and the knowledge of our hostess. We are long past the stage of standing at a tasting bar and having someone pour and move on to someone else. We also very much appreciated the time allowed so that we could enjoy each of the wines and discuss amongst ourselves and the hostess. We typically like big reds over whites. Having said that, the wines we tasted were quite lovely, some unique grape blends, and overall very high quality. We have a rule that we have to drop out of one club before joining another, but in this case, we made an exception and joined Benom. Our friend also joined, but he was very interested in some of the French wines available, and our hostess created a nice selection of those for him to take home as well. We look forward to future wine selections and shipments and visits to Paso and Benom (as well as the...
Read moreThis was a phenomenal tasting stop at Tin City in Paso Robles. My wife and I decided to make the stop after seeing all the stellar reviews about their operation and making small production Bordeaux style wines. We’re so glad we did.
From the very moment we arrived, the entire Benom team was on extremely welcoming, thoughtful, and proactive towards ensuring our visit was an enjoyable one. Their French inspired wines were out of this world and we also enjoyed their more experimental white wines. We enjoyed them so much we ended up joining their club and look forward to taking family and friends for tastings in the future. The Origin Cabernet and Lapsus were superb. The Le Vingt was easy drinking and was super approachable as a young wine just like their other staple reds we tried that were from the 2021 vintage. These will age incredibly. Happily swapped in this membership for another Paso Robles one that we had been looking to replace and don’t envision leaving anytime soon.
Thanks again to Tristan and Guillaume for hosting us and spending the dedicated time you did with us during the tasting. We look forward to...
Read moreIn my most recent Benom experience with Rachel, I must share that she was charming. And it was just as I remembered so fondly from my first visit, about 4 years ago. Time flies, but the wine club kept me wanting to come back. This is a place you will remember and want to revisit each time you come to Paso. I had come here the first time by referral of lifetime friends #Doansisters. Words of wisdom... I believe that great friends tell you about special places. I experienced the original Tin City location in my first visit, but their new tasting site is a sweet upgrade for sure. Beautiful wines, served in sparkling European glasses in a truly lovely, intimate setting. The family story is special, and it is beautifully bottled up with impactful French history, and a spunky, but very classy, intellectual hostess and wine steward, Rachel. This experience of unique, delicious Bordeaux style wines was shared with a few of my work-friends. This loyal Benom wine-lover, is truly touched by their family history and spirit of joy that goes with their wines, which makes them even...
