Well, I'll start at the beginning: I was in the market for a king bedroom set. Not a Cal king, not a queen, a king. I went to a few furniture shops and ordered a set through American Wholesale Furniture (AWF).
Initially, AWF charged a higher price then matched the lowest price I found. Great, right? But then the problems started.
On the day of my expected delivery, AWF called and said the bed frame was damaged. So they ordered a replacement bed frame and delivered the nightstand and dressers.
One of the dressers was damaged but I didn't notice till after delivery guys were gone. I informed AWF and they ordered a new dresser.
Meanwhile, AWF told me my bed delivery would be the next day, but it wasn't.
I was then told bed delivery and dresser replacement would be the next day after that, but they could not get to me till late in the day and I couldn't wait any longer as I had dinner plans.
So here I am, a 63 year old woman with arthritis having to sleep on my mattress on the floor for 3 nights, still awaiting the bed they have but are not making much effort to get to me.
Then I was told I needed a box spring when I asked for extra slats. (I had a platform bed before.) Jake said slats would not be what I needed. Jake said I needed a box spring. He said my pillows would fall through the headboard and mattress even though I asked him to measure it and that my mattress was a foot high. I had to pay an unexpected $150 for a box spring.
So when they finally delivered the new bed frame and box spring, BOTH were the wrong size! The box spring, which once laid down, proved unnecessary, was a queen not a king. Sigh. Also the frame they put together was a Cal king not a king!
I insisted they leave the wrong size bed frame so I wouldn't have to sleep on the floor for who knows how much longer.
AWF never called me about ordering the right size frame, when to expect delivery or that they would refund me on the box spring.
I had to call Matt to see if anybody was working on my order to make it right. Apparently not. I had to fill him in on the whole wrong frame and box spring. He called saying he found a blank invoice for a queen box spring and figured it was mine and reimbursed me.
Matt also told me my replacement bed frame would be delivered to them on Friday and he would deliver to me the next day, Saturday. I asked that because of all the inconvenience if he would make it a priority to deliver to me on Friday. He said yes.
On Friday, when I was waiting for my bed delivery, Matt called me to tell me that he would have the bed frame that day but his next opening for delivery was the next Wednesday, five days later! It seems he had completely forgotten that he had told me he would make a priority of delivering my bed on that Friday. Unbelievable.
Today is Tuesday and, surprisingly, Ian, the delivery guy, called to ask if he could deliver my bed today! Luckily I hadn't made other plans and was able to be home to receive the delivery.
I don't blame Ian or Gabe, the delivery guys. They were professional and sorry for all the problems. Probably embarrassed too.
But between Jake and Matt getting so many things wrong with my order, them not trying at all to make things right for me as soon as they could, all the miscommunication, I will never do business with American Wholesale Furniture again! And I will spread the word.

Nobody has kept me updated on what is going on I’ve had to call them and as of now still waiting to hear from someone. They said they’d call me on Friday and it’s Saturday night and I haven’t heard from them. Not happy! 3-6. So.... we have received our sofa and bed and are so happy with them. I can’t say that I liked the wait, but..... I do feel that the quality is wonderful and that Darryl and Jake made very good on all we had to deal with. I do recommend them to anyone looking for new furniture. Also the delivery guys were awesome. I know things happen and I’m willing to let it all go because in the long run Darryl and Jake showed what good character they have and that they value...
Read moreI recently purchased a electric reclining sofa and got a discount for paying cash. I asked to receive a receipt upon delivery and Jake the owner assured me the delivery people would have that receipt upon delivery and payment of 1500.00 in CASH. Once they set it up and I handed over the cash, I was told there was no receipt so they called to the office and were told they would get one for me. 2 days later I called and was told they would text me one which I asked to email it to me. after 2 weeks I have no receipt and they have the cash. They had no intention of following through so I have no warranty if the electronics has an issue.
