Lakeside Community Theatre, Inc. — Attraction in The Colony

Attending a performance at Lakeside Community Theatre (LCT) is full of surprises. Tucked behind the VFW Holley-Riddle Post, this theatre could be easily overlooked. But those who navigate through the VFW parking lot to the theatre will certainly be rewarded. The mark of a good community theatre is, of course, the community and LCT’s is passionate and creative. The lobby is cozy, but not to crowded, and filled with photos from varied productions over the years. The theatre house has the advantage of being totally reconfigurable to best enhance the current production. The result of this ability is that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. LCT is a fairly small theatre allowing those in the audience to feel intimately involved in the action on the stage. What an amazing experience! I love supporting community theatre and this was my first community theatre show in the DFW area. I could not recommend it more. The actors were magnificent, the choreography spot on, the lighting design creative, and the whole atmosphere was beyond words. I was a little nervous for a black box theatre but I shouldn’t have worried at all. I cried so much during Alice By Heart and would see it again, 100%. I thoroughly enjoy the productions here. (whether watching or performing in them) It's a small theatre off the beaten path, but make no mistake about the amazing quality shows I've seen. Each member of the cast and crew are clearly dedicated to their craft and give you their all. It's tucked in the back, hard to find at first, but plenty of parking.
