RIX Sports Bar — Restaurant in The Colony

Went their last night 6/29/14 for the first time to relax, listen to music, watch people dance & have a great time. I sat alone at bar and also watched UFC, having a great time. Then got to watch the owner start ripping a new bartender. He rode her to tears over a period of an hour. The other bartender (Tammy) was trying to smooth things over with owner. Owner (Rick) had been in the kitchen up until late and then stayed behind bar. He was a total distraction from everyone's fun & people started leaving. He was also focused on getting all the glasses clean which blocked the view of UFC. He continued to rip the new bartender at every chance to a point she just stood by the cash register & totaled receipts. RICK is a PRICK and a dumb manager for doing what he did in front of customers, very doubtful I will ever go back....

Awesome casual neighborhood bar.

We went here on a whim. Our first impressions after walking in the door was that it smelled clean (not smoky) and there were a lot of games. There werent many people because we went during the afternoon, but it looked like a DJ was setting up.

The bartenders/servers are really nice. I've missed this kind of neighborhood bar. Around here, most of the places are pretentious "craft" cocktails that are $12 a pop. At Rix, they'll make any drink the way YOU want it, the drinks will be done well, and at a waaaay cheaper price than other bars in the West Plano/Legacy area.

We also got an appetizer (the chili tater tots). It was pretty standard bar food, but it was hot, fresh, crispy, and only $5, so...

Johnathan and Allen were great bartenders. Very attentive and friendly. Johnathan suggested the quesadillas after I couldn't make up my mind and I was not disappointed. My friend got their wings with Buffalo cajun and they were spicy without being overly so. Flavor was so rich plenty if sauce! He also let us try their hottest sauce and it had a great smokey flavor with a lot of heat and no loss of flavor. We stopped by for a quick drink and ended up staying a few hours.
