China Star — Restaurant in The Colony

I do not like to leave bad reviews because I feel like one experience doesn't define a restaurant, but this place has terrible customer service. The food is not terrible, but it's definitely not great. We order from here because it's inexpensive. The price is NOT worth it. Twice I've tried to order and they called me to cancel my order due to not having more than 1 driver. This time they raised the minimum order amount because they were "too busy to come to my location". When I told them I always order the same thing, they lied and said they never deliver under $25 (even though the website required over $15 and my previous orders have not been that much). I was going to add to my order, but when I told them I always order the same thing, they hung up! I called back to try to still get food and she said she was "too busy and tried to call me" and hung up again. Needless to say, I did not add to my order! First time here and when I walked in, I should’ve known better to just turn around and run because this place had such a repugnant smell, i honestly think the kitchen floor drains were the cause for the smell. I walk up to the counter and the rude lady literally looked me up and down as I waited at the counter and after a few minutes she walked up with a angry facial expression and didn’t even bother to say hello or anything I had to be the one to say hello and tell her I was there for a order pick up and gave her the name. She looked around and mumbled something underneath her breath which I’m assuming she was saying the order wasn’t ready but another customer came and she welcomed them and spoke to them clearly. After a few minutes she brought my order and placed it on the counter and again still didn’t say anything and I just said thank you and left. The customer service here is terrible and the place smells disgusting it definitely needs a visit from the health department and it literally was disorganized and filled...

China Star is an ok Chinese food place. The serve traditional meals and portions are good sized. The down side is the delivery, they have this one guy who was last seen driving a white Audi Small SUV who literally throws your food at you if he doesn’t like the tip amount. We placed a order recently and went to pick up to discover it was labeled delivery. We raced home to get out food. We don’t carry small bill cash but we were able to find some money. The driver was handed the money he looked at it and threw it back and (to a woman) through the food at his displeasure of the tip amount. This is not the first time it’s happened either, my son (minor) incurred the same treatment where the driver thought the couple of dollars at him along with the food and walked off mumbling in his language. They may ban us but it’s the truth and as the the saying goes...
