We arrived as a group of 11, so I asked the shrewd old lady at the counter if they had group discount she abruptly told me "no". So I said ok no problem. So we broke out into groups as we came up there. She wasn't so much rude as she was just not a friendly person that put tension and an awkward feeling in the air. When my sister started to pay for herself and 4 kids she told the old lady that her youngest daughter wasn't a year old till this Saturday as we went up there Monday. This old woman gave my sister a look and states "she's not 1yr old yet, hmph". As though my sister needed to bring a birth certificate! Kids 1yr and younger get in free. As I was about to pay for my family I was holding a Starbucks drink and then she tells me that I couldn't enter with my drink. So I told her I wouldn't pay for myself until I was finished with my drink. So I just waited at the counter till I finished. When I was ready to go in she mistakenly told me that I had already paid. So I said ok. I got there and paid 6 dollars each for my family of 4 so it came out to 24 dollars. Since I waited to pay till I was ready to enter. It should've been 30 because it was 5 of us but her mistake. So I went in. The staff was really uptight for the most part. As my kids played in the kitchen play area this one particular woman, kinda old and tall, would pick up every toy as soon as the kid would let it go out of their hand. It was very annoying until the point that she was telling my 6yr old daughter not to touch any of the toys of food as they needed to stay put up in the little cupboard that the lady had neatly organized. She wouldn't even let me daughter get anymore out from there. She obviously didn't like kids very well and maybe she thought she was at home with her organized food. I don't know but I think they need to get more kid friendly people working there and not just a shrewd bunch of old hags. I get more friendly welcome when I go to old navy than when I went to this children's museum. It's definitely a fun place for kids but watch that rude staff as they aren't...
Read moreWill not be returning. Pretty rude staff. They were annoyed we did not buy tickets ahead of time. Told us next time we needed to. Then… They were annoyed we paid with cash. Then told us to come in next time early because they’ll be closing in two and a half hours and there is no refunds if we did not get to everything.
Then… Told my oldest he wouldn’t enjoy because he was too old. Even though his age level is on what is recommended…developmentally the activities that are set up are prefect for him. He felt like he was allowed to play with after that comment. Asked to leave because this place was for babies.
As he was playing on the fire truck and kitchen staff told him to let the little ones play and move out of the way. He is tall for his age so many assume he’s older. Even though he played with SEVERAL kids older than him, but shorter. He was not rambunctious & played with the young toddlers that approached him. (Even pretended and let the little ones tell him how to “cook” or play in whatever way they requested.)
I asked about the classes that they offer there. Very cold in response and told me my oldest could attend. I let them know I was inquiring for my youngest. They asked were we were form whenever I said it - they said it would be a far drive for us to make. Then walked away.
Very few things I can take my toddler and oldest to enjoy together. This location is a great option for us but we will not be returning. Over priced for the areas set up. It cost to return is play school and activities set up for short entertainment. Would consider going to special events to make it worth while…
However, staff were negative, annoyed, and not enjoying themselves at a CHILDREN PLACE. What is more fun than that?
We did every section and enjoyed it with in one hour and forty five minutes. We had...
Read moreIt's definitely not like the museum in downtown, which I think is great. This one was okay. It was very expensive. It was about $ 29. But it was air conditioned and a good place to go with a toddler when you can't play outside. It was really busy. We had kind of a bad experience because there was a big kid there that took a knife and put it up to my throat and said to give me all this money or he was going to slit my throat. He was playing around, but it was dangerous. And I thought it was a really weird thing for a young kid to say and do. My son was with me and he is a police officer and he shut the kid down pretty quick. He was only about 8 years old but really big for his age. His parents were nowhere to be found. That was not the fault of the museum so I'm not rating the museum on that. The kid left shortly after that so we didn't report him or anything. My toddler grandson really enjoyed the "fishing" area, the trains, and "driving" the truck. I was surprised at the amount of kids that were there that were not supervised by their parents at all. They tried to take things from my grandson by grabbing them instead of waiting to take their turn or asking politely. No parents intervened, except for me. Most of the parents let their kids run free while they were on...
