Glitz Fix Waxing Studio — Attraction in Thornton Township

My first experience was the best experience. The owner/CEO Ashley was extremely happy, high in energy and she made me very comfortable. She talked to me the entire time and she was really fast.

My second experience with Ashley really put me in the position to where I “HAVE” to leave a review. First and foremost, I’m in great pain. I came home and my private area was not only swollen, but bleeding and my skin was torn off. Also, she made comments on my area that made me uncomfortable. I probably wouldn’t have felt so uncomfortable if she didn’t already seem irritated and and clearly upset. I was speaking to her, trying to talk to her and hold small conversation but, she wouldn’t even respond to me. Pretty much ignoring me. Then, she answered a FaceTime call for a guy while she was waxing my private area (the phone was not facing me). Which was an absolute NO for me. When you’re waxing someone’s private area you have to realize that they are trusting you to see a part of their body that is “PRIVATE”. I don’t know how to put this, but I feel as though I should have been treated more delicately with respect of confidentiality and my right to privacy. I felt a bit violated. You never know a person’s situation. In the business that she’s in, she have to understand that there are boundaries and levels to this. Unfortunately for her she will never receive my money again. After almost a year of being hesistant to visit Glitz Fix, I was kind of dissapointed after my first visit. As a first time customer I was required to pay the full amount before being serviced, cool. After scheduling the appointment I recieved two emails about an "updated" appointment time. My appointment was pushed back twice in other words, I can't cancel atp because its already paid for. Get to my appointment and I had to wait 20 minutes before being serviced, after 30 minutes spent on the wax the rest of my ehavwaited 20 minutes to get started. IF YOU HAVE A FULL DAY AHEAD OF YOU GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME - IN CASE YOUR APPT. DOESN'T START ON TIME. OR IT GETS PUSHED BACK.

On a lighter note, it really is a beautiful facility. It just wasn't for me, nonetheless, I encourage you to continue to support Black businesses...

I’ve been coming here for quite some time. I was referred by someone who had never been but HEARD it was a pleasant experience so I tried it. Nether the less, I wouldn’t dare go to any other place. Ashley makes me feel comfortable and speeds knowledge on her expertise in which I find refreshing! I usually come for a Brazilian wax and V-Stream. Both of these experiences are great. The steam from the V-Stream isn’t too hot, she offers a bottle of water, cold wipe, and refreshing music. As for my wax, I’m the person who still tears up for eyebrow waxes, the experience is great.
