A boba tea shop in Toccoa?! And named Middle Earth Cafe?!!! Be still my heart!!
The tea was superb, dare I say maybe the best I've had yet? I am going to have to exercise great self control so as to not to be visiting more than my waistline wants! The menu is nicely varied with lots of options to keep you coming back to try new drinks. They are also expecting to have smoothies and more coffees to offer in the near future, too.
The only thing really lacking here is the ambience and considering they are obviously Not finished with the dining floor ( there is still decor waiting to be hung) and this review is being left literally weeks after opening this cafe has Much potential!! Especially since the product is so good.
I will say my daughter wasn't nutsy about her latte but she is a long-time coffee barista herself and very picky, so take that as you will.
I sincerely hope to see more Middle Earth theming coming. And just in case the owner sees this post, if I could make a enthusiastic suggestion, consider having the OST of the movies playing softy in the background; I know that would be a Huge draw for me personally.
I am very excited about this establishment and hope to see it grow and become a community gathering place in the future! A welcoming place for all, be you man, elf,...
Read moreTheir boba is always undercooked. I go here multiple times a semester hoping to have softer boba, but every single time I am disappointed. I bit down on one once, and it hurt my tooth so bad I thought I almost chipped it :( not only is it not tasty or nice to eat, but it is also dangerous to the health of customers if you are not cooking the tapioca completely.
The drinks themselves are yummy, yet a bit pricey for the quality of tapioca like I said. If the tapioca balls were cooked better, I think it would be a 5 star rating! I also wish they had more of a jelly selection for the drinks like they used to, but I understand how costly that supply can be.
Overall the service is good and the workers are very kind, but really my only issue is the boba itself—the main reason I ever buy milk teas is the boba, so when the selling point is this underwhelming it’s a bit disheartening :/
The atmosphere is cozy and awesome! But sometimes the fish tank looks a bit…nasty? I dont know if that’s on...
Read moreI have been to the middle-earth café a few times now and live in the Toccoa area. Some of the times I’ve come here, the boba has not been cooked well enough. Today the tapioca pearls were not done well, they were hard to chew and it kind of tasted like they had been taken out too early. I kindly asked the people working if they could fix it twice and they said no. I would have been perfectly happy (and would not have written this review) if they had found a way to fix my drink but they did not. Not the best customer service experience. I am not saying it’s not worth coming at all, I just wanted to share...
