Decided to visit Togaloo State Park on the way to visit family and drove by this place around lunch time. Took a quick look in google maps and saw some of the photos and ratings so we decide to try it. Man we were not disappointed! I would have never guessed such a legit Mexican food restaurant would be in that area. I ordered the shrimp cocktail as a starter and when I saw the presentation it reminded me of visiting Puerto Vallarta, one taste and I was back in Mexico. All the rest of the food was equally delicious, in large portions and reminded me of my time in Mexico. I will definitely visit again next time I travel to that area. The staff was welcoming and super friendly, overall a great experience.

Service was great! We sat right down and the chips and salsa were delicious! They also had an awesome salsa bar. Our food was was sooo good too and huge portions. I got the carne asada ( pictured below) and my husband got a burrito. I was also extremely impressed with the plating of the carne asada, it was beautiful and huuugee the picture doesn’t do it justice! The steak was cooked perfectly too. My husband got a margarita he said was really good and I’m pregnant so they made me a non alcoholic guava daiquiri that was yummy too. We will definitely be back when we’re in the area! The only thing I have to say is that I wish they had an online menu so I could’ve looked ahead of time.

My family and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is fantastic, and the service is fabulous! We eat here regularly and highly recommend this restaurant if you love Mexican food, seafood, etc. It would be hard for us to decide what our favorite foods are as everything is really delicious. They have a huge menu and recently added 21 new meals to their already varied menu. The portion sizes are large and are a good deal for the prices. They also have a huge drink menu. They also have a Mariachi band on certain nights. If you want excellent food with great service, then look no further!

It was decent to good. Typical Mexican food with too many menu items. I had lunch fajitas, which was extremely humorous portion for lunch. Granted I know quite a few people out there are looking for diabetes, but I'm not one of them lol. Both my friend and I had to comment that the lunch and dinner sizes had to have been the exact same. The standard table salsa was actually my favorite part. The rice was a near second. Now, the reason I only give 4 starts is because of the service. The server was good at being attentive and he took our orders quickly and had them out to us quickly. But, we assumed the female who kept coming over looking at her service dog(actual service dog doing nothing but what he was supposed to be doing) laying under the table and not making a sound, must've been the manager. It seemed as if she was gonna say something. My friend lives with blood pressure issues and has seizures. Nothing you can see... So, it's kinda normal for her to have people stare and wonder. But her while demeanor and attitude were quite telling. Also, the other reason I'm only leaving 4 stars is because when we were ready to pay (it's lunch, we're not gonna be there more than an hour MAX), he was nowhere to be found. I had to find him to get him to give us our checks. And then I had to find him again to pay. Other than that, overall...

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at! Puerto Nuevo has one of the most comprehensive menus I have ever seen at a Mexican restaurant - full of unique, appetizing, and appealing dishes to meet any tastes and to inspire you to try something completely new.

I had the lunch option of the fried chicken chimichanga with a double side of rice. The rice was top-tier, and the fried chicken chimichanga was cooked to perfection. It was crispy, well-seasoned, and had a delightful grilled flavor to the chicken.

I, also, split an appetizer of fried calamari. It was undoubtedly the best fried calamari I have ever eaten. Tender and breaded just right, it paired surprisingly well with the provided side of ranch dressing. Highly recommended!

The staff were extremely courteous, helpful, and willing to see to any of my needs that arose while eating. Service was quick and exceptionally thorough.

The men's restroom was well-lit, clean, and spacious enough to comfortably walk around and access the various facilities.

For anyone looking for Mexican food, especially seafood dishes, Puerto Nuevo offers the highest quality traditional Mexican restaurant dishes along with the opportunity to expand your horizons by trying one of their exceptionally unique offerings. Afterall, variety is the...
