Ross Dress for Less — Attraction in Toledo

On October 29, 2025, my family and I were subjected to the most malicious, discriminatory, and appalling treatment imaginable at this specific Ross location, after completing legitimate purchases totaling nearly $930. This was not a customer service error; this was an intentional act of malice and civil rights violation by the store's management team, Managers Issac and Kathie. We have already initiated formal administrative and legal actions, but consumers need to know how management here treats protected classes.

The incident was based entirely on racial profiling (targeting my Black wife and Mexican self) and disability discrimination against my deaf mother-in-law, Chellie, who wears hearing implants. Manager Issac deliberately mocked her disability by speaking in a low voice to obstruct her ability to communicate and then using the derogatory term "feen" towards her. The discrimination culminated when this same manager used the store-wide radio system to publicly broadcast that our family was "stealing" while we were actively paying for our merchandise. This is blatant public slander against legitimate customers.

To make matters worse, this malicious event was perpetrated against my wife, Nayana, who was only eight days postpartum after a medically fragile C-section recovery. The emotional and physical stress inflicted by these hostile managers was severe and intentional. When we demanded their names for our legal counsel, they refused to identify themselves and fled. We were forced to call the Toledo Police Department to the store to formally document the incident and obtain the managers' names. This level of unprofessionalism and hostility is unacceptable. Ross Stores, Inc. is now on notice regarding the illegal actions of their management team at the 851 W Alexis Rd location....

Not all that impressed. It looks like it will be more of the minority. I felt out of place and it is nothing more than a Gabes/TJ Max/Marshalls or glorified Good Will called a Ross. It is a new store, give it a few months and it will be a total disaster inside just like the other stores of its kind. The security guy on Sunday, the 9th was quite loud. Security should not be in uniform - plain clothes in a store like that should be better cuz thieves from East Toledo and in the shadier neighborhood will be going here alot, so it won't be that nice after end of April. So... not all that great. Prices are ok. The people that work there when I asked for something - was quite rude, being on her phone was more important than assisting a shopper. So yup, only a matter of time before their employees won't care just like the other stores...

Went on opening and the prices aren’t anything to call home about. There was a shit ton of ppl there (which may have calmed down now) but I was looking at purses had picked up a pink purse and was considering buying it I set it back on the rack to look at another and a WORKER came up and grabbed the purse infront of me and started taking pics of it?! I was sooo confused as to what she was doing and I said looked at her like wth?
