We went for the second time for a birthday party. Was not impressed again. We came right when they opened and parts of it were a total mess that obviously wasn’t cleaned up from the day before. There is no way right at open the handful of kids could have made the amount of mess there was. The staff working the party were mediocre at best. The girl was ok. The guy in the cardinals shirt was virtually useless. The experiment was lame. I NEVER saw any staff members outside the front desk area besides when we were in the party room. The owners could totally save money and let go of a few staff members since they obviously do nothing but sit at the front desk and hang out with one another. They basically only need someone to check people in and people to run the party rooms. I saw many children with shoes on and children that were too young or short for the bounce house and slide. I never saw anybody sanitizing anything. Covid or no covid, little kids are gross and germmy beings and things they touch should be wiped down often. After a couple of hours there is stuff from different exhibits strewn all over other exhibits. Children randomly brought in toys from other exhibits into the bounce house that should not been allowed. The exhibits were hockie and not to most safe. Many exhibits were actually broken or missing pieces. If families that have multiple kids and can’t keep an eye on all of them at once the ones not being minded can easily get hurt. There is a real dependence the adults who bring the kids to ensure safety vs the ppl who actually work there that basically get a pay check to sit there and chit chat with one another. There were some kids throwing blocks and the only reason the staff said anything was because it was right behind the front desk. The staff member handled the block throwing situation very poorly and was basically screaming at a bunch of 4 year olds. If the staff had actually been paying attention to the situation they could have stopped the block throwing well before it even started, but they were more concerned about socializing with one another. Had we not wanted to celebrate a friend’s birthday we would not been willing...
Read moreI had a birthday party for my son here over the weekend and I am very disappointed. The staff that was there were very unpleasant and unprofessional. They would talk with sweet voices but I caught them rolling there eyes everytime I went to the front desk to ask questions. The two girls were giggling and looking at the computer and the boy was sitting behind the desk on his phone. I was under the impression that I had paid for a host for my party, but I had to ask for my party host to come to my party room 10 minutes before our party time ended for them to come to the experiment I paid for. She even asked if I wanted her to come help with the party and passing out pizza the 3rd time I went up to the counter, but at that point I was very aggravated and told her I would do it myself.. The room was dirty, I had to wipe down the tables and chairs. Somebody asked if we needed plates, silverware, or napkins, I asked for plates, we ended up going to the front desk 20 minutes later to ask for plates again. There was a lot of equipment at Myseum that was broken and there was trash laying around the whole establishment and the tables in the main area were gross. I was also under the impression that the "fake snow" experiment would be fake snow. It was not, it was just slime! Which is messy,, and there was no planning around it, our "host" left and came back 3 times for supplies even through she had a cart, we only had 3 kids participating and they didn't provide smocks to prevent mess on their clothes, or ways for them to clean up other than clorox wipes. I wanted to have a special day for my little boy and I am just so upset with how it turned out, and when I asked for a manager I was told they were on vacation. We also paid for the party when we got there and I even double checked before we started to pack up, but I was still asked as I was walking out the door if I was "ready to pay". Very unorganized, unprofessional, and overall an unpleasant experience. We will not be returning nor will I be referring them to any...
Read more11/13/21 We had a child's birthday party. The manager instructed that the gifts be placed in a wagon with our child's name on it. While we were in the room getting it set up, the family of a party before ours took my daughter's gifts. No one at the Museum was watching our gifts. The manager discovered that the family was still in the parking lot but didn't go out to get our things back. Instead he tried to tell me that it "wasn't a big deal." His only concern seemed to be that I was over-reacting and not for being the least bit sorry that it happened.
Thankfully we (myself and family) were able to retrieve them.
I told him at the end of my daughter's party that I expected a hefty discount for their negligence and what they put us through. His apology was insincere and said they wouldn't give more than a ten 10% discount and acted like that was generous. I said I wasn't going to pay until I spoke with the owner and after making a phone call, he gave me the owner's number.
She just called and left a message saying that it wasn't even the Myseum's fault and they wanted their money! (I never said I wouldn't pay at all).
This has yet to be resolved as I am waiting for a callback but you can bet I am never going back. All I deserved was a heartfelt apology with ACTION on their part. No sincerity whatsoever.
UPDATED 11/15/21 - The owner replied to my email yesterday afternoon agreeing on a discount and requested the balance be paid by end-of-day. I didn't see the emails until the evening (they went into my junk mail) and there was a follow-up email within 4 hours of the first one demanding payment or they would call the police (keep in mind that this has not been going on for weeks or months...my daughter's party was the day before.)
I called today and paid the balance. BUYER BEWARE! These people do not care about you! They only care...
