I have gone back and forth about writing a review but I feel that it is necessary. First, I ordered both my bridesmaid dresses and my wedding gown from this shop. Both of which ended up beautiful but no thanks to this shop. My first appointment with Elaine went very and she was very sweet. A few months after my bridesmaid dresses were ordered I tried to follow up and was given a run around about the color of the dress for over two months and was promised all was fine. The bridesmaids dresses came in about 3 weeks before my wedding. I picked up one of the dresses which was in a bag and was just so excited it came in I took it home. When one of my girls took the dress out of the bag it was not the correct dress at all. I called Denise and said that there was a problem and the dresses were wrong and the first words out of her mouth were "but aren't they beautiful". She then went on to tell me the dress that I wanted did not come in the color she promised me and that this was a better dress and because I had some bigger girls in my wedding this dress would flatter them more!! Yikes! She picked out the dresses for the biggest day of my life with out consulting me at all. I was very upset because at this point my whole entire wedding was matched with this color and there was not enough time to order me a dress I liked. So Denise said that she would fix the top of the dress to match the style I wanted. I had no other choice so I said ok and thought as long as this was true I would deal with it as I didn't want any of this stress the few weeks leading up to the wedding. The girls went in to get alterations and they were being done by different people and each top looked different. I have no idea why the same person would have not worked on the 5 dresses. I will revisit bridesmaid dresses shortly. My dress came in a little over a week before my wedding. My first fitting was with Rosa and she was very sweet and seems very good at what she does. She pinned everything and did my first round of altering. At my second fitting she pinned the sides to take it in because I had lost weight and with it pinned and ready to be altered it looked amazing! The Friday before my wedding (married on Sunday) I picked up my dress and asked if I should try it on. They said no...they were also very busy, I took my dresses and headed to the hotel. hung it up and wasn't going to put it on until the last minute! I woke up at 6:00 in the morning the day of my wedding and just needed to try it on. When I did, I almost died!!!!!!!!!! THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF MY DRESS WAS NOT ALTERED AT ALL!!! It was 3-4 inches to big on my body and looked like a potato sack. My mother-in-laws friend brought her sewing machine, steamer etc and altered my dress just hours before I walked down the isle and it looked gorgeous. She also fixed all the bridesmaid dresses. You can find a beautiful dress anywhere, but to me it is About the customer service and this shop needs some serious help in this department as I can see from other reviews as well. Save yourself the 250.00 I lost (which I may try and get back) and go to an individual to do it for you. Sorry so long winded, but by far the worst stress to incur on...
Read moreI went to every store in Buffalo but none had what I wanted. I went back to D after all others failed because she had told me some of her dresses could be customized. D is very friendly, supportive and a self-esteem boost. She said the designer could make all the alterations I wanted no problem. I based my whole dress around these delicate Pearl straps I wanted and a slit on one side. When the dress came back from the designer the straps and slit hadn’t been added and the Pearl bodice I also wanted was not added. She said it wasn’t a problem, they wanted to add the pearls in person so they knew how many I preferred which I was fine with. She claimed her seamstress could do everything I wanted. The bodice turned out great however, when I went to put my dress on the day of my wedding, both straps popped off and I ended up having to cut off what I based my entire dress on 30 minutes before I walked down the aisle. By the time I left the church, my slit had torn and tulle was poking out the entire reception. My sister had also gone to D for her wedding dress two years ago and similar issues occurred including having the dress cut her back pretty badly and the design not matching what was agreed upon. I didn’t think it’d happen again. Overall, had they told me I couldn’t get what I wanted I would have appreciated that way more then my dress not being what I expected on my big day.
Betty is amazing at D’s so if you do go I recommend getting her opinion as she’ll tell you what looks best and is plausible while D seems to just sell the dream.
In response to your comments below: I did have a great experience when I was at the shop but at the end of the day, my dress (& my sisters) missed the mark on the day it mattered unfortunately. Yes, the pearl bodice was lovely. I asked for the slit and you told me Casablanca would make the change. When they didn't, Bobby said he didn't want to do it because he didn't think it would look good in his opinion (I loved it before it ripped), not because it would cause an issue with the dress or not work. Yes, I wanted pearl delicate straps. You said you (your seamstress) could create these and you found and recommended the straps we ended up using. Had you thought that they wouldn't hold, then I would have preferred you saying so. I was happy when I left because the straps were attached and the slit was intact. The next time I tried it on (the morning of my wedding) this was no...

They knew exactly which dresses would flatter my complexion and body type, and they customized the dress for me so that I saved a significant amount of money on alterations. I traveled from Toronto, Canada, to NY for my wedding dress because Bridals by D was the only place willing to go the extra mile to help me find a stunning Demetrios dress. After visiting three different bridal stores in Toronto, where I was pressured to buy off the rack with no customization options, I was beginning to lose hope. But then I found Bridals by D, and everything changed.
Betty and Denise were so accommodating, even offering to borrow the exact dress I wanted to try on when they didn’t have that particular dress in store. Their warm, personalized service turned a stressful situation into a magical experience. Thanks to them, I walked away with the perfect dress, tailored and accessorized to make my big day everything I imagined.
