I was at the Dicks in Amherst, NY earlier this night to buy a few things and the cashier told me I could get a credit card and then also get $40 onto it just for opening it but also, get an extra 10% for every $100 I spent. So I would then have $50 onto my store card because I spent $193. She told me if I spent over $200 I could get another 10% so then I’d have $60. Once I got home I realized that she told me I could get the extra 10% if I bought the $10 warranty onto the cooler I bought earlier, which would mean I would’ve spent over $200. So not even 15 minutes later I went back and asked about it and the same girl that helped me check out was there so I went up to her to ask. But then some other worker came over and wouldn’t let her talk to me and she wouldn’t let me talk either. All I was trying to ask was if I could or when I’d get the money on my card. But she once again wouldn’t let me talk and was screaming and threatened to call security on me. She was talking in a very harsh and rude tone and had a very bad attitude towards me. You’d think me just asking a simple question wouldn’t cause such a big issue but it did. The costumer service was horrible. Her management really doesn’t represent the amazing and big store Dicks is! I really hope whoever trains the workers can improve on this and hopefully it never happens to anyone again. What a disappointing experience....
Read moreAwful experience. Slow Tuesday evening, employees everywhere (had to be 3 to 1 ratio employees to customers) and no one would help customers. I fully came in intending to by new running shoes….except the 3+ folks working did not seem interested in helping anyone buy. When the one style I picked was not in my size girl literally said we don’t have it and walked away! I found some on the sale rack, but check out clerk kid was so uninterested (my transaction failed and in 3 seconds he forgot I’d had one and started over as if I just walked up. Was actually startled I said, but I just ran my card and it said approved). By the time he figured out I was disgusted with Dick’s, the hiring manager who hired all the too cool for school z’s wandering around in green shirts and decided to return the shoes immediately. Read moreUnfortunately I had to give one star. I have never received such lack of "customer service." I'm not sure if it was bigotry, ignorance or just incompetence. I am a woman of African origin and now is not the time to make any human being feel less than, or pre judged. I had to make a online return and upon entering with a box larger than myself, I asked where I should go for returns. Allan and Lucas and a manager on site all stood there while another man instructed me to walk around the rather large service area which only landed me right at the door, conveniently at the return area. After I politely suggested that one of those nice guys "sure would have been nice to help a small woman with a large box" the manager just proceeded to walk away. No apology, never greeted, very rude and silence the entire return.
