"The Roycroft Campus, situated in the charming village of East Aurora, is a gem of American history and a pinnacle of the Arts and Crafts movement. Established in the late 19th century by Elbert Hubbard, an influential exponent of the Arts and Crafts philosophy, the campus was originally a hub for artists and craftspeople. Its distinct architectural style and dedication to craftsmanship made it a national landmark. Our visit to the Roycroft for Enzo’s birthday was truly a walk through history. The meticulously restored buildings, each with their unique character, speak volumes of a bygone era where attention to detail and artistry were paramount. The campus, with its serene ambiance, is a testament to Hubbard's vision of creating not just products but art, emphasizing the beauty of handcrafted items. The dining experience at the Roycroft is equally remarkable. The cuisine, always top-notch, blends contemporary flavors with traditional recipes, making each dish a celebration of culinary art. The atmosphere in the dining area, with its historic decor, adds to the overall charm, making it a perfect setting for family celebrations like Enzo's birthday. He particularly enjoyed his Sunday dessert, capping off a memorable evening. The Roycroft Campus is more than just a dining venue; it's a cultural experience. With its awesome architecture full of history, it offers a glimpse into an artistic movement that greatly influenced American art and culture. Every visit here is not just a meal but a journey through an important part of our artistic heritage. For anyone in East Aurora or the Buffalo area, a visit to the Roycroft is highly recommended. Whether it's for a special occasion or a casual outing, the blend of historical ambiance, exquisite food, and the warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination for friends and family alike."

The Roycroft Campus in East Aurora, New York is the best preserved and most complete complex of buildings remaining in the United States of the "guilds" that evolved as centers of craftsmanship and philosophy during the late 19th century. The Campus is designated a National Historic Landmark. The Roycroft Campus founded by Elbert Hubbard in 1897 was the birth place of the American Arts and Crafts movement that was a direct response to the Industrial Revolution. It was more than just a art movement...it was a way of thinking. Many of it's ideas are still relevant today. The Campus started off as the Roycroft Press which printed many of Elberts literary works. He previously worked at the Larkin Soap Company in Buffalo, NY. His wife Alice Hubbard was a noted women's suffragist. Elbert and Alice would eventually die aboard the RMS Lusitania. Fun Facts: A famous Roycrofter named W. W. Denslow illustrated the children's book The Wonderful World of Oz that would become adapted into the legendary film The Wizard of Oz. If you walk around the Campus and East Aurora you can see where he got his inspiration from. The lion head located on The Chapel is widely believed to be the inspiration for the illustration of the Cowardly Lion for W. W. Denslow's children's book The Wonderful World of Oz. The similarity is still evident in the iconic film adaptation The Wizard of Oz.

Beautiful, especially the Inn. Also the best brunch I have ever had anywhere, ever. The perfect place to find an investment-level work of art, or a nice piece of handmade pottery or jewelry. A neat antique store, a museum, a gift shop, the chapel...it can keep a person busy for a weekend. However, this would probably not be the best place for little children...they would be bored and there would be the worry of them accidentally...
