New Ivory Bridal — Local services in Town of Aurora

TLDR: best experience I could have asked for. 10/10! Found “the dress” at my very first bridal appointment, without my mom/maid of honor & with my future in laws.

I found New Ivory on Instagram & really fell in love with their body positive messaging & the idea of being such a size inclusive bridal salon. I was visiting from Denver for Christmas & I decided to check it out with my future sister & mother in law (you know, as a bonding experience). I gave them the low down in the car, that finding a dress that fit me & looked good was something I was stressed out about, & I am planning to go with my mom & maid of honor when I get back to Denver. However, THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST EXPERIENCE!

Kristen and Amanda are amazing! Their process & kindness rid me of any anxiety & got me out of my head. Kristen made sure that I felt in control, she became my best friend in the room. Things started to shift & I realized I may be walking out of there with a dress. We were sure to FaceTime my mom and maid of honor. I had so much fun & then I found my dress! I wasn’t expecting to find it at my first bridal appointment, with my in laws, but I did! I couldn’t imagine going back to Denver & having another bridal appointment as successful, positive, comfortable & fun as this.

I knew I wanted to call it, but I struggled with the idea of my mom and maid of honor not being there. Again, I felt very supported by the NIB team & not at all pressured in the slightest. Kristen gave me space & time & grace to think on it. We decided to go to lunch down the street, where I was able to call my mom privately & she gave me her unwavering support to GET IT! I called Kristen immediately & told her I’d be back in 30 to sign on the dotted line!

My mom and I flew to town this weekend for Mother’s Day to pick up my dress. I was able to try it on for her, along with some beautiful veils (including my her own)! We were able to have our moment & we picked out a veil together!

This experience taught me that even if you thought it “should” be a certain way, your bridal experience is your own. New Ivory was & continues to be the best experience I could...

After trying on dresses at a couple local bridal boutiques I felt as though I’d have no choice but to settle on a dress that I didn’t love. I tried on gowns that looked so beautiful draped on mannequins, size 2 mannequins. It was a wonder why I didn’t love any of them on. I decided to make one more appointment, and that was with New Ivory Bridal. I first peeked at their Instagram, and post after post I saw beautiful, confident women of all shapes and sizes adorned with ivory, lace and shimmer too. At the time of my appointment Kristen (owner) greeted me at the door elated to work with me. She toured me through the gown selection and I was mesmerized by the upscale and glamorous ambiance. The dressing room wasn’t a room, it was a literal suite filled with natural light, drama and comfortable textures. Kristen was above and beyond attentive. After trying on close to 10 gowns I was feeling far from “settling”. I was having actual difficulty deciding between 2 gowns, and for Kristen’s patience with me I thank her deeply. Going from feeling like I was settling on a dress that wasn’t made for my body.. to feeling like every dress I tried on was made for my body made me realize that my body and the way I look wasn't the problem. After much deliberation I chose my gown and she is FINE!!! Kristen was more than transparent about shipping and delivery dates and not once did I feel pushed into a decision. All in all I was absolutely in love with my experience at New Ivory Bridal and the little details and surprises along the way were “chefs kiss”. I can’t wait for my “Vault”...

Edit: After a handful of appointments at other bridal stores, I was getting worried I wasn’t going to have that bridal moment and find “the one.” I had my second appointment at New Ivory yesterday, this time with Kristen. After listening to what I was looking for, she picked a dress to put me in and I knew that was it. Being the indecisive person I am, she was incredibly patient as I tried on and shot down the other dresses. After putting me back in The Dress, I actually cried and had a super cheesy moment with my mom. Kristen then picked out the perfect veil. I truly cannot stop smiling thinking about my dress and the whole experience at New Ivory. Thank you thank you thank you to both Kristen and Amanda for giving me a truly wonderful bridal experience that I didn’t know was possible for me. I can’t recommend them enough!

Amanda made my try on experience truly wonderful. As a plus size woman, I was nervous going into my first bridal dress appointment, thinking I might not like anything I put on. From the moment I walked in, she was warm, inviting, excited, and made me feel excited and comfortable to be there. I felt beautiful in (almost) every dress. I wasn’t ready to commit to “the one” today and I never felt pressured to, but with the help of Amanda, I narrowed down the style I’m going for and felt amazing...
