Homegrown Festival evening, nice time, green grass, smiling faces, no big to-dos about parking or entering--as in no parking directors, no lines, no cones, no nothing at all regarding where parked--making it super-simple and stress-free! It was a relief to encounter this with my not-so-great joints and aching body--I was so happy about not being sent off to park in the back 40!
Also, there was no line to get in, you could walk right in, no checking bags and purses and IDs and strollers and whatever else that stops a line for moving--like I said there was no line--just a wide open area with a tent centrally located where you could OPT to show ID and get a wristband in order to consume alcohol.

Read moreI wish East Aurora would remove the phone poles in the parking area. When you're parked in a parking spot, the pole is in your blindspot. I backed out and hit a pole. Immediately a neighbor, came running over to console me, saying it happens at least once a week and pointed to all the broken break light plastic all over the ground at each pole. The neighbors frequently nail reflectors to the poles, hoping it makes them more visible but that hasn't worked. It seems the town should be able to put a landscape barrier around each one, or move the poles closer to the grass so folks are dealing with this hazard...
Read moreMy girls wanted to ride their new bikes, so I figured the tennis courts would be perfect... however, (most of) the fencing wasn't up and was lying on the tennis court. It also seems that since we moved to East Aurora this park has always looked more like a construction site than a park. Although I have not been over to the playground area so I can't speak for that part of the park. But what I have experienced has been less than desirable.
