My son and I passed by yesterday on our way to Target and he saw the planes and wanted to go in. I am so glad that we did! It was a beautiful day out and we got to see the planes in the hangar as well as ones outside. My 3-year-old was WOWED by everything there! And while we are outside a really nice gentleman volunteer offered to take a picture of my son and I next to the planes. Then afterwards he walked around the entire museum with us and gave us history on everything and showed us all that the museum has to offer. We really had such a great experience because of this man giving us such a wonderful tour. My son got to go into one of the big planes which he loved! Also before we left he gave my son a pamphlet that has pictures of the planes inside with information, my son loved the experience so much he carried the pamphlet around the rest of the entire day and slept with it last night! We will definitely be coming back here and I can't wait till they have another Air show because apparently they had one the day before we came and we missed it because we didn't know but now I will be keeping a lookout! Thank you for such a...
Read moreI'd like to take a moment to share the sheer brilliance of the Museum of American Air Power. This place is a treasure, not just for boys—it certainly captivated mine—but for girls and enthusiasts of all ages naturally. The hands-on experience is second to none: imagine smelling the history, touching the gritty textures, and even climbing in and sitting in the cockpit of an actual fighter jet and a World War II cargo plane. It's a delight that's stamped a seal of approval in my books.
Now, let's talk about the staff — their dedication brings the museum to life. I have to extend an enormous thank you to Tony, a volunteer whose understanding and communication skills profoundly impacted our visit. When informed about my boys' and my niece's nonverbal autism, he didn't just adapt; he engaged with thoughtful questions, history tidbits and a level of interaction that truly resonated with the kids.
For those of us lucky enough to be locals, this museum is more than an attraction; it's a cornerstone that deserves our continual support and investment. It's anything but dull and stands as a vibrant testament to the marvels of...
Read moreYesterday I had the opportunity to visit the American AirPower Museum and take a flight on a T-6 Texan airplane. My kids purchased the flight experience for me as a gift. The only way that I can describe the flight is, Fantastic! What a wonderful experience! Everyone at the museum treated me really nice. My preflight review was done by Aiden. He explained everything that I needed to know, assisted me with my life jacket and parachute and helped get in the plane. My pilot’s name was Nick. He was great! He explained everything that we were going to do. I had mentioned that I keep my boat in the Blue Point Marina and Nick made a point of flying me over it. Nice! My wife and I also had the opportunity to see the museum while we were there. In addition to all of the old planes it has many great exhibits related to the history of military aircraft. The volunteers in the museum do a great job and make your visit a great experience. I highly...
