Home Depot bringing Classy back to Retail Appliance shopping.
We have been a shopper of the Farmingdale location for years. I am the era of online shopping, so all big purchases I usually do online- with store to home delivery. While I am a fan on online shopping, for big things it requires a lot of research and is kind of a task. This time we needed washer/dryer and it had to be a certain size, wanted specific features etc.. With all the page scrolling and averaging of sizes we decided to start looking around in person. Went to a competitor that had a sale and then decided to go back to our Farmingdale store to see what they had, just to look. Met sales appliance specialist Christian and it changed everything. First of all, the experience changed my mind to every old misconception I had about having to buy in person. It brought me back to what shopping was like in yester-year when purchasing big house items was considered buying luxury goods. Christian easily brought us from browsing into shopping. He listened to what we generally had in mind and was so knowledgeable he guided us to the exact units we needed in no time. No pressure, no hassle, knew his stuff, had all the answers. Then let us know when would be a good time to buy it. Sure enough we came back when they had a sale, and talk about convenient, we finished the purchase on my lunch break. He set up the sale, scheduled delivery, installation w/haul away, and made it a fast seamless process. They text and emailed throughout the delivery and called leading up to getting to the door. We had a setback w/ having to have something adjusted for the units and had to reschedule. We thought that would be a headache but nope, called back Christian and he took care of everything. We had the next available day. The delivery and installment service made up for any hiccup we faced. The two guys that came the second time were professional. They respected their workspace and took pride in what they were doing. It was white glove service from beginning to end. With how everything is in the world today, costs of things are high and we work hard, the struggle is real. This experience made purchasing something feel the way it use to in the past, like a hard earned way to treat yourself. All of the staff we dealt with took pride in their jobs and it showed. They understand you work hard too and delivered top class service. We have to give credit where credit is due. Thank you to appliance specialist Christian Nielsen, delivery/installation Elisado & Gerry, and customer service reps of the...
Read moreI purchased a Mitsubishi Hyper heat Mini Split system from home depot in May 2018. I did so even though they had the highest (price) of the installation estimates of any of the contractors I got estimates from. I did so because I trusted the Home Depot name. I felt safe knowing that if anything went wrong I could rely on Home Depot to take care of it. I paid nearly $13000 to have the 3 unit 33000 BTU system installed. Because this Pennsylvania house is a seasonal home, I wanted the ability to control the temperatures winter and summer remotely. To accomplish this I paid an additional nearly $400 to have the Kumo cloud (app) set up. The sub contractor who in installed the system was Holbrook Heating Syracuse NY. The installer knew absolutely nothing about setting up Kumo and had to look on You tube. He eventually got it to work but since then service has been sporadic and mostly non functional. More upsetting was the fact that the sales rep who Holbrook dispatched to sell us the Mini ($13000) system (on behalf of Home Depot) told us we would have a three year Warranty for labor from Home Depot (through Holbrook) and 10 years parts from Mitsubishi. NEVER was it mentioned that we would have to pay nearly $200.00 PER YEAR to have a service rep some out and "clean" ? the unit. We only found this out when a rep from Holbrook called recently to say we want to come out and service your unit. I asked what cleaning entailed because we were only told by the sales rep that we had to clean the filters periodically. She said no we have to clean leaves out of the outdoor unit and check indoor units. Make sense to you?? Over all I would advise anyone interested in buying a mini split system to get pricing and as much as I have always loved doing business with Home Depot, I would not recommend them given that I have called them to express my complaint and never heard back. The Bottom line to add insult to injury is that Mitsubishi unit materials cost was $5076.00 and so the labor came to nearly $8000 for a 1.5 day installation which should have been one day because installers did not have a part and spent half a day driving back and forth to get the part they didn't have. A Very Disappointed Customer .. Shame on You Home Depot !!!!! My advice Mini Splits are great.. But don't buy from Home Depot.
PS I checked Holbrooks record with Better Business. They have a lot of...
Read moreThis is the first time I visited this location in quite a while as I have another location that’s closer to me . My experience this weekend at the Copaigue store was horrific Waiting there for 40 minutes for someone to help me and continuously being told that someone would be right over and they never showed after multiple complaints. I finally ended up leaving the store getting in my car and calling the Farmingdale store and asking if they had someone in the department that I needed to help me they told me they did and to come right over. I arrived at the Farmingdale store my daughter snd I both and we had the most wonderful experience I could’ve ever of imagined we dealt with David who worked in the molding area, and this man was genuinely superb. His customer service was off the charts as well as his personality and his willingness to help us. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I was to him. I then returned to the store the following day to the same department, as I forgot something and was helped by a man named Lee how lucky was I that on my second trip I also was able to deal with somebody who was just as superb as David was. He went out of his way to help my daughter and he made sure we were leaving the store with everything we needed. He walked us up front out to the doors and I made sure to ask for his manager so I could make sure that I gave my feedback of such a wonderful experience to the person in charge. I will never ever hesitate going to this store again I’ve learned that just because a location is closer Doesn’t mean you’re gonna get what truly need. Both of these men deserve Kudos for their hard work dedication and superior customer service. I am grateful...
