I'll start this review with three different classifications of shopping malls: There are packed malls, dead malls and malls in between that either do or don't have potential. The Arnot Mall in my eyes classifies itself as one WITH potential. On normal days, especially when it first opens the doors, it starts off slow; that speaks for any shopping mall, center, outlet etc. It's been ages since I shopped here. I'm saddened have to seen two of the anchor stores it had (Macy's and Bon Ton) out of the directory and disheartened worse of nothing to replace their spots. I'm also saddened to hear rumors of JC Penney to close...who knows when, but again that's just a rumor. This leads to many smaller retail chains to either jump ship, or follow Macy's lead causing the mall to be classified as dead in many people's eyes, but busy and/or hopeful in others. I'm sure the owners aren't giving up as far as I heard, and that's a good thing. I have witnessed different retail chains occupying certain spots from my familiarity of my last visit. Back in the day it was packed specifically during the weekends and was the place to hang out (Time Out gaming area was the spot). Nowadays, not so much as technological enhancements of any kind (social media, Amazon, etc.) tend to hamper it's ability, but that speaks for all shopping malls in general.
I'm glad to have gotten a few things from there before heading back out of town as I noticed by the time I was leaving, it got busier than when I showed.
Still hopeful...

I was that someone. And I have trouble walking without pain sometimes. They had just called me and pulled up to wait. On my way out I saw them stopping and it did take me a little bit to get over from the other wing by clairs. But before I got out, I saw and heard a little bit of the tounge lashing. My question is they were there for maybe 3 minutes. And I was headed out, does this mean that those with mobility issues can no longer be picked up at the doors? Because that is how it seems. Please everyone, keep this in mind. And when I say maybe he was having a bad day that is not an excuse. But with all the leaks in the ceiling and the non working AC. Maybe he was just projecting. But if this is a rule please post it. Since this will cause stress to many others. And it would be best to go to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMalls across the nation are struggling to survive, and Arnot Mall is no exception. I recently moved to the area and this mall had more going on than I was expecting. Took my wife to the new Filipino restaurant (Foodie's Point) in the food court and she loved it. There's a spa in the mall, an axe throwing place (which I totally want to try!), and other mostly local businesses. You still have your mall staples like Claire's, Hot Topic, and Spencer's. It's nice to still walk through a mall on a cold day. They seem to be trying to think outside the box to revive this mall. Loved the miniature golf course going throughout it.
One oddity is Auntie Anne's - this huge chain is very popular in malls, but the one in the Arnot Mall is out at the end of the dead wing of the mall just outside the old Sears. They really should move to...
