Funky Town Comics & Vinyl — Attraction in Town of Camillus

Funky Town Comics & Vinyl so I just drove here from Cicero (about 30-35 min drive) to check out said “modern AEW and elite figures” with my tax refund in my wallet.

Upon arrival I was greeted by a man who kept calling me brother (which I didn’t particularly enjoy) and when I asked about these figures I was told “they aren’t priced yet so they’re not out”. That was a weird statement since I was told on this post 4 days ago that you had them, I’d understand if I went there immediately but getting told that after being told 4 days ago that you had them in stock was extremely unprofessional.

On my way out of the store, out of the corner of my eye I saw the box of the WWE and AEW figures and asked “so can I at least see what you have?” Where I was again told no. Again, EXTREMELY unprofessional, and at this point downright rude. At this point I was absolutely disgusted and left the store.

I will make sure to tell this to every collector in our area that I’m friends with. I’ll sure never spend a dime with you guys after this experience. Attatched is a small bit of my collection so you know the type of collector you turned away and wrote off as just another “brother”

5/20 Update: I just want to take a minute to double down on my previous review. I visited all the comic shops in Syracuse on FCBD, and all of them have something great to offer. But, if you're looking for a place that has the best sense of community, you've gotta go to Funky Town. The folks there are legitimately happy to see folks walk in the door, and they'll take the time to learn what you like and direct you to something that fits your interests. Then, you can head out or stick around and chat about your favorite nerdy things. It's a great place!

One of the best aspects of Funky Town is the friendly and welcoming environment they foster. Without ever being overbearing (there've been times I've just quietly browsed for an hour), the guys here offer a greeting, ask about your interests, and make suggestions if you want them. I’ve been going to this store since it opened and I can’t say enough about the amazing staff and atmosphere of the place. The moment you walk in you are immediately greeted and made comfortable. Jesse, Jeff, and all the guys know their stuff and will help you search through their massive inventory and give you recommendations on what to read. Every week they are stocked up on all the best new books. They also get a ton of collections coming so if you’re into older issues they have that too. On top of this, there’s something for everyone at Funky Town. Whether you’re into vinyl, comics, toy collecting, or Pokemon this is the store for you!
