Done with Kay’s as a whole…I’ve spent probably 15-20k here over the years and about a year and a half ago I bought a necklace and charm WITH WARRANTY. The states it’s repaired for the life of the necklace and if it can’t be repaired it would be replaced with the same chain. Fast forward a year and a half the necklace breaks and they claim it’s unfixable and try to talk me into trading it in. I refused and wanted it replaced and they said they don’t sell that kind of chain anymore. I took it to the higher ups in customer service and eventually they said they would send out 2 chain options for me one that’s like mine and another one and said one of them was more money but the other would be an even swap for the credit they were giving me for my chain because they couldn’t find one like it. Was advised to go in yesterday to pick up the chain and my wife’s ring that arrived back. When I got there she had two chains for me to look at…one was just like mine but slightly thicker mine was 3 this was 3.5 and the other was a really ugly cheap yellow gold chain that’s nothing like mine. I assumed the swap out was for the one like mine so I decided to choose the one like mine. They said it would be another $700+ to get the one like mine vs me only paying $48 for the ugly one but that’s without warranty and then tried to sell me a warranty despite the last lifetime warranty not meaning a damn thing after a year. I took the ugly chain despite my contest because a new chain is better than a broken chain. I asked about trading in my charm that I bought with the original chain now that it didn’t fit the new chain and they acted confused. At this point I was irritated with the lack of progress so I decided to just send the charm out for repair as well with intent to just sell both after because it’s not something I like with the new chain. Obviously they kept the old broken chain as a warranty trade in for the new one and held onto the charm with the directions to send it out for repair. They called me today and said that they made a mistake and labeled my charm as the trade in and not the necklace. So I’m assuming there would be a price difference that will hit my bill considering the values weren’t the same. Who knows what’s been done with the charm and necklace at this point but they said they will call me next week with an update. Done with Kay’s scamming and I’ll most likely take legal action considering they have done everything to force more money out of me except honor the warranty they just sold me on top of the errors they are making that might have an impact on prices. If I could give them 0...
Read moreI personally will not be going here again. I had dropped off my engagement ring to be sized in the beginning of June, I was given a due date of 06/28/23. I received an email stating thank you for dropping off your ring and reiterating that the ring was due on 06/28/23. On 06/26/23 I received an email identical to the first one saying thank you for dropping off your ring and a different due date of 07/06/23. After receiving this email I had a text conversation with a Kay’s representative as to why the due date was changed, they had let me know that this was due to the fact my ring had certain stones that could not be done at the first shop so they had to send it to another shop. This was a bit frustrating that the store could not notify me and me being the customer had to reach out, but needless to say I could get over that. 07/06/23 came and went and there was still no word on my ring. I called Kay’s customer support to get an update. The woman reached out to the store and the store told her they had no idea when the ring would be back. The woman then told me I could call everyday and check. That is appalling to me as I manage a business myself and I would never treat a client this way. Finally after having to have my mother in law call the manager stated she would call me the next day. I didn’t get a call until 2 days later. They had let me know my ring had arrived after nearly 2 months. When I had gone to pick it up the woman went to look for the ring and could not find it. Finally after going through the entire drawer she said “oh it was filed wrong.” How could you file someone’s engagement ring incorrectly? Needless to say the customer service was atrocious and I will be bringing the band to the set somewhere else. Never was I given an apology nor offered any compensation for their extended due dates and lack of organization. I can’t believe I even had to edit this, don’t leave a 1 star review stating you had a bad experience here because the manager will call you let you know how offended she is about your review. She also likes to talk over an interrupt you the entire time. Then make excuses for her employees losing my ring. So sorry let me re-phrase. Kayla did the say the words I’m sorry, then they decided to extend the due date of my ring- and were not able to find it when I went...
Read moreProbably the worst service I have NEVER received. We entered the store at colonie center , albany with the intent of buying a men’s silver chain. There was a male salesperson by the door ( June 27) he proceded to ignore us while we looked around, after a bit we stood by him and he continued to ignored us. I asked him if he could help us and he told us he was cleaning some jewelry and that we had to wait , we did . After about 10 minutes of watching him clean this jewelry he came up to us with an extremely off putting attitude . We told him what we were looking for which the length of chain we wanted was not in stock, he said let me look it up online and see what they have , we said that would be great thank you . He then went to continue to clean more jewelry without a word of how long we would have to wait . I went up to another salesperson and asked to speak to a manager . I was told they have a manager but that person was there and she cannot give us the managers name of where to contact the manager of the store. I proceeded to tell her what had happened and she seemed to get annoyed with us , told us we can wait and she would help us when she gets a chance . We did they only thing we could , we left . Horrible horrible experience ! We visited other jewelry stores near by and were treated so nice and willing to help us . These salespersons are Kay’s were simply...
