When you want to take the whole family to a movie, there is no better place. Ticket prices are low, seats are comfy, and one of the theaters has tables and lots of leg room. The theater is clean, as are the bathrooms. Yes, the staff is mostly teenagers, and sometimes they mess up (last night we went to see "Spectre," and watched a lot of Disney previews before we realized they had cued up "The Peanuts Movie" by mistake), but they're friendly and helpful. As another reviewer pointed out, it's good to have a sweater. The sound is fine. For some reason, there is no curtain over the door at the smaller theater, so some light from the lobby shines on the right edge of the screen.
Watkins Glen is way more fun than the Mall; often we go for a walk afterwards and have an ice cream at Ben and Jerry's, look into the knitting store, or shop for shoes at Famous Brands. I remember the sad, heartbreaking feeling when this beloved little theater sat empty, vacant, and for sale, at risk of being lost forever. Not to mention, it truly is a wonderful way to connect with the past and while still creating new...

Popcorn ia tasty and concession prices are good (3 tickets, 1 large popcorn, 1 small popcorn, 2 medium drinks, and 1 small drink came to just under $60- that would have been well over $100+ at the mall!) While I am super happy to have the theater here in our small community and to see first run movies- it is absolutely FREEZING in here!!! There was a small propane heater running prior to the movie starting but once the movie began the heater was shut off. If you plan on going to the movies in the winter make sure to wear lots of layers and bring...
