Dollar Tree — Attraction in Town of Glenville

On 3/26/24 at approximately 3:30 p.m. I exited Planet Fitness and smelled a strong odor of Marijuana. When I looked to my right, a black male wearing a Dollar Tree aprin was smoking Marijuana. I proceeded to walk to my car parked in Handicap Parking, put my water bottle in the car, then locked my vechile and walked over to Dollar Tree adjacent to Planet Fitness. Once inside , I requested a Manager. I immediately informed him of the situation involving his employee presently smoking Marijuana outside of Planet Fitness, approximately 6 ft from the end of the building. I also stated he was wearing a Dollar Tree aprin. He responded he is off the clock, and him smoking a Boogie, there was nothing he could do. I then stated he is representing Dollar Tree wearing the aprin, and not 20 ft from the building. The Manager stated he would speak with him. While exiting the store, the employee walked by me reeking of Marijuana, and walked back into Dollar Tree. After exiting Dollar Tree, I walked over and entered Planet Fitness. When I inquired about the individual smoking Marijuana outside with the Dollar Tree aprin on, they stated he is out there multiple times a day. Clearly the Manager does not discourage this, or other Managers. This is the representation you want for your corporation, and clearly not addressed, or discouraged, I find that appalling. I did a review a while back for the Dollar Tree of Niskayuna, but never made one for this store specifically.

First and foremost, I took a few photos of the interior since Google has not updated with its latest remodel and the new plus section that was going around. As you can see, it’s quite clean. As a matter of fact one of the cleanest Dollar Tree that you could possibly lay your eyes on and able to walk around without anything blocking your pathway. And you’ll pretty much find what you’re seeking for.

However, the line management is outrageous since there are currently 1-2 registers open as other reviewers have mentioned. I don’t believe it’s the cashier’s fault for this, they are simply doing their job as best as they can. Of course, it’s near the holiday season, so what can customers like myself really expect from it. Unfortunately, Dollar Tree itself is popularly known for having the problematic long lines, so it’s normally going to be like this on a regular basis.

Setting that aside, I’ll give a point on this Dollar Tree. Not only it was clean, but most of their workers were really respectful. As someone who isn’t originally from Glenville, I honestly would suggest this place...

My wife visited this store today and left devastated. We just relocated to this area from Utah and my family loves dollar tree and she was so excited to visit this one minutes from our new home. She was followed through the store by a sour faced employee who never left her even when she went to the register and stood in front of the cashier.
