I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. Always a fantastic place to eat. The folks are super friendly and they enjoy getting to know their regulars. The food is great and the owner is extremely nice. He always makes sure your experience is the best it can be and has the biggest smile on his face. You can tell this restaurant is a dream come true for him. They have fantastic desserts. Chocolate moose, cheesecake, carrot cake, apple pie, chocolate cake, vanilla chocolate & strawberry ice cream flavors. They have breakfast all day ($10-$20) which I love. They have cereals, muffins, fruits, in addition to the classics like French toast, eggs, toast. Their soups are great as well as their sandwiches. Another wonderful thing about their sandwiches ($10-$20) is that they come with a pickle, coleslaw, and French fries. Their coleslaw is fantastic and so are their French fries. The pickles are very good too. I recommend the grilled cheese and also their pancakes. You can get chocolate chips in them too. The hamburger deluxe ($10-$20) is excellent and it also comes with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. They have corned beef and cabbage as well as lasagna. They have something for everyone. My family often orders the pilgrim wrap while I stick with my breakfast :) They have a senior menu and a wide selection of alcohols. They serve sodas, juices, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and other drinks like Shirley Temples. Booths and bar seating is available as well as tables & chairs when the event room is open. There are 2 men’s restrooms and 2 women’s restrooms. One male/female pair of restrooms is located on the left side of the building near the wheelchair entrance and the other pair of restrooms is located in the event room on the right side of the building. Note: the event room is not always open. The restrooms never have lines and you can get in and out quickly. They have specials ($20-$30) which come with multiple sides. They have plenty of sides to choose from, so it can be a tough choice! And these tasty mints are kept by the register/exit. The building is gorgeous and always decorated for the season. The restaurant is clean and they have a radio playing. It never takes long to be seated and the waiters are always so lovely with customers and even other staff. Every time, they check on you and they even let you know who will be looking after you if they happen to go on a break during your meal. I can’t recommend the Glenville Queen Family...
Read moreIn the late 90's early 2000's Glenville queen was the place to go for breakfast and dinner. We stopped going about 8 years ago because the prices increased while food quality had decreased. We had heard that it had new owners and hoped it gotten better. Sadly it's even WORSE than I remember in the past. When we arrived we were seated fairly quickly and a drink order was taken. Our drinks were delivered and our order was taken. One burger with fries meal, one 1/2 chicken special, and one lumberjack breakfast. After we order the waitress starts going around to other tables instead of putting our order in. She remakes 4 drinks for a table who complained they wanted no ice and notice she still hasn't been to the kitchen to put our order in. 10 minutes goes by and she arrives back at our table to inform us that the 1/2 chicken special is out. The person in our party looks at the menu and ends up ordering stuffed cabbage. Again the waitress went around to other tables instead of putting the order in and again the table with drinks has an issue. Another 5 minutes goes by and a random waitress comes to our table to rudely tell us that they just sold the last portion of stuffed cabbage. By this point we were done and decided to cancel our order and leave. They seriously need to retrain staff as our waitress was horrible. We weren't confident we would have ever received our food as she took forever to put our order in. Also for the prices they charge ($17 for a breakfast meal is outrageous) I would have thought they would have updated or renovated the restaurant since they opened over 30 years ago. The decor makes the place look like it's forever stuck in the 80's. Needless to say we will NEVER be back. There are way better restaurants in Glenville that deserve our...
Read moreThe Queen has been a favorite of ours for a while, including my 3yo who begs to go, however after our most recent experience we no longer will be dining. Our waitress took our order for drinks, and then said she would give us a few, upon returning she took our order. My son always gets the same thing, Kids Chicken Tenders & Fries and an additional Fruit Cup as a side (this is a “starter” on their menu) There was confusion with this, but the waitress still brought it all out and then took the kids food away in front of him. After everyone was sorted (which i felt we were apologetic for the confusion) the waitress asked if everything was okay “now”, as if we were causing a problem. We also heard numerous comments about us and other customers from the staff. Eventually the waitress sent the owner to take our dessert order, not sure why she couldn’t do it. They take our order, and say they will bring boxes with it since we were unsure about staying or going for dessert. My fiancé takes one bite of his and can not tolerate it, we say we do not like it, they did not even offer if we wanted anything else. She just says “oh okay” and walks away. Brings us the bill, we ask at the register of the dessert can be comped because it was practically untouched. “Well we have to throw it out so you still have to pay for it” We then agreed and said that we understand and obviously we are willing to pay. Then the owner makes a comment about us making a scene in front of our kid. Seriously unprofessional. I felt disrespected by the...
