Chicken overload!
Was looking for spots I haven't checked out along my trip home, and found this rather nice looking Mexican joint. A little hidden in the Hannaford plaza, this seemed like a nice place to eat in at but I'm a take-out guy so I wasn't able to experience the cool vibes inside for very long.
Order online on their website, going with the Bean Nachos and Chicken Burrito Loco. Total came to just over $35 before tip, a pretty fair price I would say, especially after I was able to confirm just how much meat they pit in that burrito. Seesh.
Once back home I gave everything a quick sampling to make sure I could taste it while still warm. The nachos were excellent. Good proportions of cheese and beans topping the chips, which sadly were rather floppy by the time I got them home. The flavor was still perfect though. The burrito was next, and, well, it was nothing but chicken. Never had a burrito quite like it, where the only ingredient inside said burrito was a single type of meat. Don't get me wrong, the chicken was cooked great, had wonderful flavor, and there was a lot of it for the price I paid. But, maybe, too much. I actually would have enjoyed something a bit smaller, more compact, as I had trouble getting through the last cup or so of chicken as it was just so much of the same flavor and texture. There was a side dish of lettuce, sour cream, and whatnot, but would have preferred them 'inside' the burrito. Oh, and there was a bag of chips and salsa, but boy howdy, that salsa was basil central.
Overall I think the choice of burrito I made was not what I was expecting, but the nachos were super yummy. And I got enough leftover to make a lunch out of...

Granted, they have just opened so have some kinks to work out:
My wife and I got take out from here during their first week, and were disappointed with what we got. The Chimichanga was not fully fried (still soft, not crunchy). The Jalisco Burrito came without any sides at all (no rice, beans, salsa, etc.), which should be standard for any Mexican restaurant. We double checked, and no sides are described as accompanying the burrito on the menu. Both dishes had minimal spice and very mild flavors... other Mexican food places around here put more spice into their food.
Since this was during their first week, we will give them another chance... just be aware when planning a visit.
Second Visit:
Tried a second visit (dine in) mid-May to see if there had been any improvement. Walked in and asked for an open booth. Was simply told "No" and got seated at a table in the middle. No menu changes of note since opening, and the condition of the food was the same as previously. If you have ever felt Mexican food elsewhere had too much flavor, this is the place to go.
Customer service wasn't great - despite being seated and ready to order, other tables were seated and then got to order ahead of us. Drinks weren't monitored well, and no refills were offered on the chips/salsa. The music on the speaker system kept skipping in and out, providing disruption to the ambiance.
Wasn't impressed with the food quantity/quality for the price, either. We likely...
Read moreEDIT 2025 I decided to edit my review after visiting again about a year after the visit mentioned in the previous review. This was a MUCH better experience. The service was prompt, even with it being a busy Friday night. The food and margarita were both so much better than before and it's clear that a lot of effort has gone into improving.
I'm glad that we gave it another try and it will likely become a somewhat regular date night for me and my husband.
1st review 2024 This was, by far, the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. I try to be understanding of a new business, but it should not take over an hour for 4 dinners and a kid's quesadilla to be served. While the restaurant was pretty full, it was not packed and there was no wait to be seated. The service was glacially slow, the food was bland, the cheese dip was so runny it was essentially soup, the cheese in the kid's quesadilla wasn't even close to melted all the way through, the margarita was abysmally bad, and the music was too loud throughout the restaurant, but especially in the restroom.
I'm honestly not sure if we'll give this place another try, which is a shame because we were excited for a new dining option...
