To begin this review I have been going to Bethesda now Ablelight for roughly 6 years. I try and go about 2 times a week and have had no issues other than overpriced items until today. Today I was shopping around per usual and found an Ice Maker. Your standard Ice Maker that you dump some water into and itâll make little ice cubes. Well this item was listed as 5.99 and I thought. âWow, my mom would love this!â As I am looking around at other items and such a worker from the back room comes walking towards me and VERY loudly goes, âHey did you take the Ice Maker?â I then say, âAbsolutely, great deal!â He then grabs my cart, stops me from going to the check out and says, â Oh no that isnât the right price I looked it up and had it out for $45.â I thought to myself, â Um, what is this guy talking about.â He then proceeded to take off the 5.99 sticker on ice maker and replace it with one he hand wrote that said $19.99. I then in complete confusion say, â $20, That is absolutely not okay, I am not paying $20 for an item that was 5.99.â He then without my permission grabs it out of my cart, pushes my cart and takes it to the back. I was APPALLED! How is this type of employee allowed to work with people. Not only is the entrapment of a customer not okay, the changing of prices, rude attitude and lack of respect was unacceptable. I now after 6 years of coming here am no longer giving this company my business. I still cannot get over how someone does that. If an employee doesnât agree with another employees pricing, deal with it. Donât make it your mission to harass customers! I guarantee that $20 doesnât go in that workers pocket, but he made it seem like I would get hurt if I continued walking. This place used to be good, but is now no longer worth the stop. I value respect and this...
Read moreA very good thrift shop. Prices are good (though you will find one or two to raise an eyebrow at). It's fairly clean and tidy. I appreciate that they display their artwork in a way that doesn't damage it and makes it fairly easy to browse through. It shows that they put some thought into how they display things. Except...
Except the shoes. They are arranged by color. They have been for years. It looks lovely, but does not make sense. If I'm looking for a size 9 shoe, I'd have to look at LITERALLY EVERY SHOE that looks like it could be a 9, and it is not easy to guess what size a shoe is by looking at it. I'd have to pick it up, look at the bottom, or the inside of the tongue or the insole, or the inner heel, and hopefully find it. Please, please, please just arrange them by size. Then we can just look at the racks of shoes that are actually possibilities, and it's super easy for us to find the color we want, if we're looking for a...
Read moreI honestly don't know why I didn't stop here sooner. This place is more than your average thrift store. Super friendly folks working today. Found out that the woman who helped me and I have a mutual interest in glass pitchers, oddly enough. The store was clean and organized. Plus they run certain tag colors for up to 90% off, could have come home with a full set of china for $6, don't know what I would have done with it though so it stayed on the shelf for some other lucky bargain hunter. Seriously though, check...
