AAA Garden City — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

On August 2, 2022, I had reserved a cargo van from Hertz. I was driving from N.Y. to N. C. When I got to the rental location, I was informed that a cargo van was not available. I had to rent a box truck instead. Since there are restrictions regarding trucks on the parkway, I called AAA for assistance. I was lucky enough to get help from a woman named Tanisha. Tanisha could not have been more helpful! She understood my predicament and went out of her way to help me. She planned my 700 mile trip for me over the phone and then emailed me every detail. All the while she was patient with me and couldn't have been kinder. I thought about how great she was my entire trip. I wanted to call and speak to a supervisor and let them know how lucky I was to get Tanisha on the phone that day. ( I'm still going to try and call.) For me, learning that I could take care of some of my DMV business at AAA was actually kind of exciting, for lack of a better word. I mean, DMV has gotten better over the past few years with wait times, but likelihood is, you're still not getting out of there in under an hour, no matter what... AAA was easy-peasy! I did only have to turn in plates, but I have a coworker who took his daughter there for her permit test, and it was also a great experience. My experience was quick and painless. The young lady who greeted me was super friendly and helpful, as was the woman next to her. I was probably in there longer asking questions and chatting a bit than my appointment took. I am so happy with the service I received at this Garden City AAA office. I was waiting over 5 months to get my new car's title. After waiting on hold for over 3 hours with the NY DMV in Albany, I was told to just call the dealership!!! The dealership was livid, angry and was extremely annoyed by my call. I was stuck in the middle with no answer as to why my car title was being held. I went to AAA's DMV division to ask for help in releasing my title. They were amazing!!! The very next morning I had a call saying it was released and I would soon have my title. True to their word, I received it shortly after. Thank you all at AAA for assisting me with this.
