I really would not have given a star, but it would not let me go further without one. I have never shopped in an Ulta Beauty store before, but I was curious and did need some products that I searched for, and the internet showed that Ulta Beauty had a large selection. So yesterday, 5/20/23 was my first visit. I was amazed by the quality of merchandise and the beautiful atmosphere of this store. As I made my journey through the store, I did see a few of the products I needed, but of course, I had some questions. I continued to stroll throughout the isles in hopes of finding someone to assist me. I did see a few representatives assisting other customers, and I resumed my travels until I spotted a representative (white middle-aged woman) who was not attending to anyone. We made eye contact, and she cut through the isles in the opposite direction. I stopped and watched her approach 2 women (white) and politely asked them if they needed any assistance. They seemed to know the run of the store and had what they needed and told this representative that they "were fine." I stood an isle away and waited to see if this representative would come my way since she saw me standing there, but she continued to socialize with these customers. Eventually, I started to walk away, and when I turned back around, she started heading towards the back of the store, and the customers continued their shopping. At that moment, another representative a woman again middle-aged and (white) started walking down the center isle where I was standing and I asked if she could assist me "since her co-worker had no intention on doing so. She looked back at her co-worker, who was hustling her way out of the area, and asked me what I needed. I explained to her that I was looking for a particular item, showed her where I got the sample from, and asked if there were any more, or is that it? She checked the shelf, took the sample, told me she would check up front, and be back shortly. I stood in the area looking for several other items I needed for about 2 to 3 minutes, when I decided to walk to the front where this woman headed. I stood there for another minute or two, and she never appeared. Now there is no way you could not see me or lose me in this store, I am 5'9, and I am taller than all of the shelves, and I was the only black woman in there. I finally left the store. The only thing that I did not do was check to see if they had the name tags on and get that information, but I am good with faces and remember exactly what they looked like. This is too let these two know that "you did not ruin my day with you bigotry and racist acts." I see your kind every day, and I will go back to that store and make you feel uncomfortable at any given time. And I will be sure to look for a name tag and really put you both on blast! My young niece advised me to write this review, and I will also do the same on Twitter, Yelp, and all over social media. Just remember we are not going anywhere, so maybe you should leave!!! Read moreToday May 23rd, 2025. I sent a friend to return a cologne at the Levittown Ulta that I purchased online because I mistakenly ordered the wrong thing before he went to the store I called Ulta customer service to see if I could just mail back the item, and they told me I’d have to pay the return shipping fee or just return at any Ulta store for free. I made sure I told customer service that I used Klarna as the payment method to which they advised me it wouldn't be an issue to return in store, I got two free items with the purchase which I specifically asked customer service if I needed to return them as well (Which they said no, just return the paid for item)My friend got to the store around 7:30pm, the old white blonde lady who was at the first register told him he needed to return the free items too (I was annoyed by this because he drove 12 mins to the store just to have to come back to me for the free items customer service said I don't have to return) Anyway, no biggie, I sent back the free items with the cologne, this hag again said she cannot find an account, which all the information for my account was provided, so when I spoke to her over the phone despite her nasty disgusting attitude, she found my account but said she needed the credit card I used, I informed her that I used Klarna not a card, she's going to tell me that's not what she's seeing! I was literally in my account looking at the order which clearly shows Klarma as the payment method! After two failed attempts to return this item, I had to leave my damn house in the rain to go to the store (I was livid!) when I got there, I spoke to the younger cashier at the end (nice girl) which the older cashier overheard and interrupted with a massive attitude saying the credit card was needed, that pissed me off to the max as I said multiple times, I DID NOT USE A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD! I USED KLARNA! To which this she rudely replied “I don't know what to tell you” Ummhh idk maybe do your damn job and process my refund! The other young girl cashier told me to just tap my phone which I did and the refund was processed. I don't know that old lady cahsier’s name but let me tell you this, her attitude stinks and she's in the wrong profession! funny thing is her attitude was much different when talking to the other WHITE customers lol, very typical of her! I've spent $1000s of dollars with ulta and trust me when I say, after my refund is issue I'll be closing my account and sticking to Sephora! And yeah, my $$ won’t make a difference but its MY MONEY and I refuse to spend it where people are so nasty and disrespectful! Lastly, Ma’am I don't know your name or if you will ever see this but if you do! I mean what I said after you were trying to be sarcastic! “HAVE THE NIGHT...
Read moreI am writing regarding a recent visit to Ulta. On June 9, 2023, at 7:30pm, I went to the Levittown, NY location to purchase Better Not Younger Shampoo and Butter Masque. I went to the hair product section at the rear of the store and checked all the aisles and could not locate it. Since there was no one on the floor to ask, I waited on line and asked the cashier. She searched for it on her phone and told me it was located in one of the aisles in the back of the store but not on the wall. I went back and searched the aisles again, including the end caps and could not find it. I went back to the cashier and told her I could not find it and asked her if there was anyone on the floor who could help me. She sighed and said she did not have anyone available at the moment as her one salesgirl was currently helping another customer but that "I could wait for her if I wanted." I certainly did not expect the cashier to get off the line and help me but what I did expect, her being the more mature worker, to instruct the young salesgirl, who was within earshot, to help me when she was done. I waited for the salesgirl for a few minutes but then she went to the back storeroom to get a product for the customer she was helping. I went back to the hair section area and searched the aisles a third time and could not find the hair products. I saw the salesgirl come out of the store room and asked her if she could help me when she was done with the customer and she agreed. I waited another 15 minutes and finally went to look for the salesgirl but could not find her anywhere. The customer she had helped was on line, waiting to pay. Frustrated and disappointed, I left the store, got into my car, and ordered these products from Amazon, which I received the next day at noon. I shop at both Ulta and Sephora and have always preferred Ulta, until last night. Having said that, my experience with Sephora has always been positive as their customer service is excellent. Immediately upon entering the store, Sephora salespeople will ask if you need anything and will help you locate it. I will not be shopping at this Ulta location again, which is unfortunate as it is my neighborhood Ulta. I have never followed up on a negative experience as I would chalk it up to someone having a bad day. However, this goes beyond having a bad day. It's about laziness, common courtesy, and decency. These workers clearly ignored my repeated request for help. I have read the reviews here and many are similar. Instead of sending out a generic response to this review, Ulta needs to address this...
