I've used this ferry service to visit my work wife and her family. The service is great at $21 round trip. If you sit on top and out doors you may get seaspray and sunburn, a two for one deal if it's sunny out. You can also get a pricey bite while you wait for the ferry but the service is unduly kind and warm; basically more than worth it. This trip might be my last since the work wife and I are parting ways. Seaview ferry, I may miss you!

Just a smooth enjoyable ride to get to fire island to get your day going. 25-30 minute ride. Plenty of seats up and down the ferry. Of course you might want to get in front of the line if you’re interested in getting a good seat on top.

It's a ferry. It's not fancy and it's not particularly comfortable, but it's on time (seriously), the staff are friendly and efficient, and it takes you to Fire Island, and what's not to love about that?

Have had a large variety of problems with the ferry company over the past 20 years (dirty boats, overcrowding, being charged seemingly random prices for baggage as the deck hands give you a different price to pay each time for the same items, etc.) Today was the worst experience of all. I was turned away from a boat several minutes before its scheduled departure time. The ferry crew told me the boat was full and there would be another one pulling in right behind it to take the remaining passengers. However, there was no other boat. I called the office to inquire about the situation. An older man on the phone told me he didn’t know why the crew would have said that and that I shouldn’t listen to them because they’re 16 and don’t know what they’re doing. Uh, sir, perhaps train the people you have working at the company you are in charge of????? There is absolutely no help from anyone if there is ever any sort of problem. This company literally just cares about money. It is very unfortunate that they are the only company offering ferry services to the part of fire island where I live. They know they are people’s only option and take full advantage of that. So...

Great app and service. Round trip to ocean Beach... A little packed... A few no maskers.. Who had to individually had to be told to wear one on the way. All things being equal..I rode the top deck. So open air .. Low risk. Unfortunately on the way back (and the way there) absolutely no respect for social distance on the line up. During my trip home sure rolled in..I grabbed a window seat so I could continue to get open air... Unfortunately "Karen-the-maskless" boarded the very full not distanced trip back and then informed I needed to close the window. Once I informed her to put on her mask.. She went and got ferry staff and informed that I needed to close window.. Didn't mention her lack of compliance and had the staff tell me he was just trying to make everyone happy.

I rode back on top deck.. Fortunately little to no rain.

Score one for "Karen". Don't ride the ferry if you care to keep your distance. On the plus side the trip there the security was diligent in enforcing the mask rule.. The way home two counters looked at Karen and still could not bring themselves to enforce the law or...

I called beforehand to find out about parking and was told, "There's plenty of Parking". The lot they told me to use was full, only finding that out after inching along for about 10 minutes. They said, "Use the other lot, go out and make a left...". Went there, waited there and 3 cars in front, they closed down that lot as full. The guy there said you can park up by Truro college, but it was too late for me.

Unfortunately, I'd purchased 2 round trip tickets (non-refundable) just for this occasion.

When you make representations that "There is plenty of parking, as well as you can park right next door...." , it should be a true statement.

In response to the reply from Fire Island Ferries: It was Friday not Saturday or Sunday, and your phone person made a representation that there was parking. In reliance upon that person I purchased tickets (2), which are useless to me. Perhaps you should instruct your people to tell the truth? No refunds? like when will I be out there again? Oh wait, I suppose I could get a refund...
