Ive been driving past this place for 40 years without knowing about it. I only found it due to both needing a place to pee due to coronavirus everthing closed, and having lived in san diego half the time the last five years, anytime I see a piece of land with nobody living on it I am fascinated about it, why is it empty? is the seller asking to much? or is it a park of some sort? having travled the country by train from here to LA constantly, I appreciate the trees and clouds that we have here more than anything. I hope this park is around in a 100 years, probably it wont be looks like they sold part of it for the firehouse and the nursing home...eventually it will all be gone. I would expect 8 story condos facing the pond of all sides...
Read moreUsed to be my favorite spot to walk with my 5yr old son... now, since they made a formal parking lot, its basically no longer a nice place to walk. Just call it what it is, a dog park where people unleash their dogs and neglect to pick up after them. If i go there i am guaranteed to have a dog chase my son or step in its business. Never once seen a park ranger monitor the always keep your dog leashed rule. Dead trees are everywhere, algae in the lakes killing lotus pads. Ducks gone from the lakes.
