Just purchased a Subaru Forester last week. I have a newborn baby, so I wanted a larger vehicle to fit my children in. I told the salesperson I am newly postpartum and asked about any features on the car that I should know about for the safety of my young children. They went over a few things but left out a very important piece of information. I did a quick run for milk with my newborn in the Subaru. She started to get fussy, we rushed back to the car. I put her in her seat (she was crying but I knew when we started driving she would stop), threw my bags in the car and went to get in the driver door. The door was locked, all the doors were locked. I frantically started screaming and crying for help. It was a warm day and my newborn was screaming in the back and I couldn’t get to her. It was a big scene. All the help in the world couldn’t get the car to open. I had to call 911 who opened my car with a wedge and wire. Thank god after a half hour, the door was opened. My baby was shaking and sweating, I was hysterical to see her this way. Plus, my new car has scratches all over the inside passenger door. I called Subaru upset, telling them what happened and that I needed to download the Subaru app so this never happens again. I also told the salesperson about the scratches. He ignored the scratches on my new car and told me I need to pay for this Subaru app with the feature that allows me to unlock my door from the outside if the keys are in the car. It’s an app. After their failure to communicate a crucial piece of information that could’ve seriously injured my newborn or worse, I am not paying another dime. I am highly disappointed in the attitude and disregard of my newborns wellbeing from the Subaru staff. There was no effort to make it right besides getting money out of me for the app with the unlock feature. They should have told me keys could be locked inside this 2024 vehicle. I wasn’t aware that was even possible. I am so thankful my baby is okay. It was a warm day and thank god for the police who got her out of the car before it got too hot. Secondly, they did not try to help me with the brand new car being all scratched now from having to be opened quickly to save my baby. I’m so upset about the way the staff handled this and very disappointed as well. The Subaru staff were pleasant and helpful as I was going through the purchasing process but once the car was sold, I was no longer their problem. I’ve had the car 1 week. I regret my decision to go with this dealership after the way they treated me after what happened to my newborn due to their lack of communication about features on this vehicle. They had no compassion, took zero accountability and were rude and dismissive. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership for anyone who has young children, this was a very dangerous situation, as a new mom I can’t sleep because of this and it was handled with complete disregard by...
Read moreAs soon as I stepped foot in Donaldsons Subaru, I knew this was going to be the place I purchased my Crosstrek. I had been looking at other dealers and everyone else seemed pushy and just looking to get a sale. We sat down with Ashley and she was absolutely amazing. I told her my "must haves" and "nice to haves" and she gave me options based on my budget and what I wanted. Going from an '04 to a 2021, I definitely had my fair share of questions about leasing and all the different things that come with the car. Ashley took time to really explain and answer each question which made me feel so much more comfortable with the whole process. After that meeting, I was set on a Crosstrek and couldn't wait to close the deal!
We ended up coming back the next day to test drive the 2021 Crosstrek Limited. Holly helped us out and she was also amazing. She explained everything that was new in then 2021 Crosstrek Limited and didn't pressure us or ask any pressing questions.
We came back March 22nd to close the deal and it was super smooth. Both Ashley and Robert made me feel at peace with the process. The week before, Ashley found me a 2021 Crosstrek Limited that even came with extra's that I wasn't expecting! She went above and beyond to find me the color and model that I wanted. As someone brand new to leasing and owning a new car at 24, I wasn't sure what to expect. The whole process start to finish was effortless. Before Ashley sent us home, she sat in the car with us and explained all the different features and how to turn them on/off. She also walked me over to service so that I knew where to go when I come back in the future. Throughout the entire process, she didn't text/call/email me daily to see if I made a decision or not. I had other dealers doing that and it pushed me away from doing business with them. I'm thankful that Ashley followed up when needed, and gave me space to think and sit on the numbers when needed.
If you're looking to lease or buy a Subaru, definitely go to Donaldsons. It was a 30 minute drive from where I live but...
Read moreWent here looking to buy my daughter her first new car. Took my sister along to help us pick something out. We were impressed the moment we got there and met Mike, he was honest and not your typical pushy salesman which made the car buying experience pleasant. Mike listen to our thoughts and concerns and found us the car my daughter loved. By the time we took it for a test drive and came back Mike was already selling my sister a car. By the time we left the showroom we had purchased not one not two but three new cars from Mike that day. Mike helped us process the paperwork and had us driving all three cars home that day. I can not say enough about the salesman Mike Chiofalo if you’re looking for a new Subaru he is the man to see at East Hills Subaru of Sayville. I researched other dealers but this one had the best inventory and prices and with Mike we couldn’t go wrong, Mike thank you for making the car buying process easy.
