My review is mainly on the indoor swimming pool. I love the size and kid area of the indoor swimming pool, BUT during winter time even I was told the pool water temperature is 80-82 F degree (if they can do 84-85 will be much more comfortable, I know that bc that's the pool water temperature in LA Fitness swimming pool and love it). So with 82F, my 3 year old still shakes/shivers when body is partially out of water after getting wet on the chest and shoulders. It feels even colder when he gets completely out of water and shivers more and lips turn blue. This is not just my boy. I observe other toddlers also shaking while in the pool. I wish they turn up the heat and also the pool water temperature higher so the younger kids can enjoy it more. We live in the county (you need to be a county resident to go in) and cost $11 for a single adult, $7 for toddler, or $8 for teenage, no tax on the fee. For us, 2 adults and a 3 year old is almost $30 for a day pass. This price was in 2024, bu sure if there is any increase after that. They need to see your ID. We are considering of getting a wetsuit for my son and myself to keep us warmer there and hope we can enjoy it more next time. They do not allow life vest/jacket or any floating device/item to be worn on kids at all and they don't provide you with any unless 有paid for some swim classes only provide during class time from What the staff told me. . No Jacuzzi hot tub. The sauna room and hot wet steam room are inside each of the gender bathroom near shower area. There are 2 family changing rooms in the basement. We only used 1 and it has a shower head (leaky and partially broken) inside with a bench and a shower chair. As of this moment, the pool opens M-F 8am-7:30pm while center close at 8pm. Weekend the pool close at 5:30pm, while center close at 6pm. As of this moment, 4 month rate is $155 (1 time fee) for a single adult, family rate is $220 (1 time fee for the 4 months). There are lockers in varies sizes in the bathrooms but you need to bring quarters...
Read moreJune 2021: Since the end of most Covid restrictions the facility pool is now open for swimming no longer limited to one person per lane. Be advised you still must wear a mask upon entering the facility, obviously not while swimming.
This is the location of the Town of North Hempstead Aquatic Center. It is only for Town residents and proof must be shown at registration to include a utility bill showing your residence. The staff are friendly and I restrict my use to the large lap swimming pool having about five lanes for swimming, the kiddie pool area and water slide are attached to the main pool which has led to a general evacuation on the few times a youngster has left a "gift" in the pool. There is a list of rules for pool use but only sporadically enforced. You would need a calculator to count the number of people who enter the pool without showering. Also, someone always uses their phone on the pool deck with impunity. Still, it's a good facility with an exercise room, lockers for rent each visit, 50 cents for a tall locker, 25 cents for a half size. There is plenty of parking outside, and ballfields are right next door. Rates appear reasonable. Be forewarned: if you leave the parking lot around 3pm on a school day you'll have a bit of a traffic delay getting down to the light at Denton Ave due to the high school located just...
Read moreHours are getting better. Tuesday and Thursday open at 6:00 am. for the early risers who are tough and hardy. I was told that this is a trial run, so call or go online to see if there are any changes. Swimming lessons are also provided, which is a great community plus! For those of us who swim weekly, keeping track of changes of schedule, due to swim lessons is a must. Nothing worse than getting there to find the pool closed till swim lessons are done. The children's section, including a great slide, enables parents to introduce their little ones to water activities in a very fun way. Parents can take turns swimming laps while their children enjoy their amenities. A sauna and steam room are available as another healthy addition to the complex. Yes, there is a workout area (which overlooks the pool). You won't find the over-the-top fitness center here, but if you are looking for a place to get yourself moving and enjoy low pressure, our very local aquatic center is a fitting...
