Grew up going to this park. When I was a kid me and my parents would come here to play on the playground. As I grew up this park was a spot to meet up with friends after school. Tried going recently only to find that a tall new fence has been constructed and some guy is checking village IDs at the gate. I live in āNorth New Hyde Parkā, but anyone who lives here knows thereās no difference between the village and the unincorporated part of town besides street parking... How despicable, keeping residents of the neighborhood from enjoying a long-standing public space simply because your house falls a few feet out of town limits. I hope whoever is behind this decision to cordon off Memorial Park feels shame for what theyāve done, youāve ruined a community gathering spot and divided a community for your own self-righteous gain. Long Island needs more spaces where people can get together, but this new development in my lifelong hometown just goes to show that this town and its leadership are going...

Just take your time and money elsewhere. Just sad to see another...

People from different neighborhoods were coming here. I myself witnessed fights (bb guns being used), people smoking weed and drinking alcohol, teenagers cursing and spitting in Park attendants face. Glad they are allowing village residents only. All the poor reviews are from former disgruntled visitors who are unable to access this Park, and rightly so, as they are not residents of the village and do not pay village taxes. Some of the former visitors might be nice people but there was always trouble...
