Another first impressions eatery.

While our first order from this store did come in huge quantities, sadly it was just to capture one's attention. Since our company moved to Long Island we were in search of a place where we can get our food every day. Consistency is key here. The problem is they started slacking off on the second and third orders. No utensils, no napkins, nothing. The portion is even horrible. I then realized, these guys just aim to impress. When they see that they have hooked you in, well.. you guys be the judge, I posted a picture of the corned beef lunch special I ordered and please let me know if that is worth 10 dollars to you. I tried to reason with their hostess (who seemed disinterested at her job and just passed the phone to a manager) the manager did not even apologize or try to resolve the issue. Posting 1 star so management can see. I asked for a western omelette, I used to always get it here- came with ham and American cheese. I drove 15 minutes each way because I no longer work in the area. Got home and the cheese was mozarella cheese with a western?? WTH? And turkey not ham. I called and was really nice, not even asking for a refund just letting them know so this doesn't happen again and the only response I got from the cashier over the phone was "i mean I can ask her???" I let her know I wouldn't want to drive and have the same thing happen to me so they should let the cook know what goes in a western and all she said was 'ok'. No apology... no offer to come back and make a new one. I used to eat this deli everyday for four years straight .. couldn't believe the level of customer service incompetency this morning. Park Deli in New Hyde Park is an institution in the NHP community. I have been going here since I am a boy and it has always provided quality fresh food at reasonable prices. Cold cuts guaranteed to be fresh every time you purchase them. Made to order hero/sub sandwiches also top notch and made with the utmost care. All salads super fresh and tasty. Try the German potato salad or the grilled chicken Caesar pasta salad as it is beyond awesome. Customer service here is beyond excellent as you are always treated like family.
