SoBol New Hyde Park — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Such a cute place. Their açai bowls are pretty good, and they have a lot of topping options as well. One thing I found funny but genius was that they put my scoop of Nutella under the granola, I’ll def have to try that sometime when I make it at home. The service here is also great, the blond guy we ordered with was so sweet!

Update: ordered over the phone recently, and the guy first tells me I have to pay over the phone, and then hangs up on me (accidentally I’m hoping). No problem, I call again. Told him my card number and he messed up twice, and then bluntly told me I’d have to pay in person. I get that people have off days and it’s half an hour before closing, but I also work in customer service and we always make sure to talk professionally and kindly. My sister went in to pick them up and she got the vibe they may have been...

😤The service was horrible, the acai bowl was blended with ice and seemed like it was in there refrigerator for days, I took 2 bites and knew instantly I didn't like it, asked them for a refund and they told me no, then some guy who works their came in and acted as if he was some kind of bully saying we don't do refunds, we can't help you, and I bought a super for $17, I threw it away in front of them and told them it was the worse acai bowl I ever had, they shrugged and didn't care, I also started feeling sick like I was gonna throw up, like instantly after taking those 2 bites, this was my first time and I will NEVER go back there and I will tell all my friends to never go there. They deserve Negative stars I had to give 1 star just to post it, sobol deserves no stars in my book. Do not go there stomach ache...

This place is HIGHLY DISGUSTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I'll never understand how the managers can take advantage of young kids and treat them so poorly as they work for them. I have taken these matters up elsewhere, but I think it's important that people know how the TEENAGE workers are treated. During my time there I didn't get a break and was told you continue working after I almost passed out from hunger and exhaustion during an EIGHT HOUR SHIFT. I was barely trained and then inappropriately fired on my FIFTH day for not being a pro already even though I had just started. This franchise/location needs to be looked into, along with why they don't give breaks and are constantly hiring and firing. I also inquired about possibly receiving a break and the manager said that is not something they do, which is ILLEGAL...
