Glimmerglass Queen Tour Boat Company Inc. — Attraction in Town of Otsego

The boat tour itself is great. Boat is very clean etc. but im rating this a 1 Because of our interactions with the owner.

the owner should’ve been grateful because the tour wasn’t even going to run… It requires 10 people and they were only five… so I bought five extra tickets so the tour could go and my son wouldnt be disappointed.

I’ve never in my life met someone so miserable. We’ve been coming to Cooperstown for 29 years, stayed at the Lake Front Motel for half those years… and NEVER encountered someone as rude and snobby.

If you want to go on the tour, sure do it….

but stay far far away from the owner because she will bring your vibe down.

Edit: another year in cooperstown and im reminded of this horrible experience. The owners response is filled with lies and proves how miserable she is.

Just to set the record straight: my child did not get hurt. Im a helicopter parent and was his shadow everywhere he went. We had the boat to ourselves so i gave him a longer leash. A 3 year old is NOT going to stay in one place.

My son was excited to meet the captain (owner) and when we he came to say hello she wouldnt even acknowledge or say hello to a 3 year old child. She also was driving the boat with her feet. Not safe and prob not sanitary. The other two people on the boat also commented on how they couldnt believe the owners behavior.

If you want to see lake otsego, rent a private pontoon from sam smiths or somewhere else.. it’ll be...

The lake and boat are beautiful, the business management leaves quite a lot to be desired. We were greeted in a very surly fashion and told to wait 20 minutes before we could purchase a ticket. We waited, then we were told the tour would only go if there were 10 people interested. They don't accept reservations, so basically we stood around for 45 minutes in the sun waiting to see if the tour was going to go. I have been on dozens of boat tours and have never seen this done. If the tour is advertised as open and running at a certain time, then it should go. I'm pretty sure if a particular tour has more than 10 people, they don't get a cheaper fare. The ticket person and seeming supervisor were both disinterested and unfriendly to the 8 people standing in the sun waiting for them to decide. Maybe try offering some discount tickets for early runs or take reservations. Crazy. Tour was ok, very brief description of the Lake, much more could have been said regarding the history of the town, JF Cooper, Hyde Hall, The Clarke Foundation...

This was our first time back to cooperstown in 9 years. We normally do the boat ride at least once Each trip that we made to Cooperstown and normally It's just my wife, my brother-in-law And myself.this year we brought my other brother in law with us As well so we figured we would continue the tradition.monday july 15th we bought our tkts and we were waiting to board and my wife ended up being body shamed by the female capt.all of us were shocked and had no reply especially since it was in front of the other patrons waiting to board as well. one of them in fact approached my wife and said f that lady and enjoy the boat ride which she didn't wanna go on after that. I'm sorry but as a Woman that's a little older.
