Council Rock Park is a small park in Cooperstown that sits at the southern end of beautiful Lake Otsego. The interesting thing about this park is that it sits at the very beginning of the Susquehanna River. I found it intriguing to see the start of this river as I’m very familiar with many other parts of the it, including the other end as it stretches its way almost 500 miles into Maryland. Quite a difference in water quality between the start and end. Everything about this lake is such a beautiful sight to see. I didn’t want to leave after my short two days in...

What was once the local Native American meeting place has some of the best views of Otsego Lake. I visit this place in every season and it never disappoints. Besides in the winter it is a very well maintained park, clean, and family friendly. It's not too hard to find, and can be a nice way to escape the tourist season for locals. Fun fact, it is also where the Susquehanna...

Mostly a historic marker at the edge of the lake, but the view is beautiful. In addition to the Council Rock marker, at the same location is a marker for Clinton's Dam (see the "different" photo). These photos are from October 2021 (a great time of year there).
