Solid location in Cooperstown, close to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Friendly staff, who was very accommodating with our late arrival (1am) after a cancelled flight. Disappointed by a few things during our stay: Bed was rock hard/has definitely seen better days. We were in room 38, so could just be our bed but it was not comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and were told our room would only be serviced on the second day. It was NEVER SERVICED. We thought it was a little odd that it hadn’t been cleaned by midafternoon, so we asked at the front desk and the gentleman let us know the cleaning staff had left for the day and offered some fresh towels. While breakfast is offered from 8-9:30 each morning, be prepared to be woken up by the housekeepers cleaning rooms close to yours before 9:30. I know they have a small crew and up to 18 rooms to clean, but it was definitely alarming to be woken up before 9 by a vacuum cleaner. You’d think they’d wait until after breakfast closes to start cleaning the rooms? Breakfast leaves much to be desired. We kept having to remind ourselves this is an INN and not a B&B. The breakfast is very simple and set up buffet style. Yogurt, fruit, egg dish, bread and muffins. We flew in from the West Coast, arrived at 1am, and the first morning, came down for breakfast at 9:20. There was a little left , but we were satisfied after our meal. The second day, still recovering from jet lag, we went downstairs at 9:20 and breakfast was put away. Why say you are offering breakfast until 9:30 if you’ll clean it up by then? We were offered the last 2 measly pieces of frittata and a muffin, but we were disappointed. You could tell the crew wanted to move on and finish cleaning rooms.
All in all, location is great and inn has some great charm, but don’t expect your typical B&B experience. This is great for someone passing through that doesn’t want...
Read moreMy wife and I chose the Inn at Cooperstown for our anniversary this year. With the current climate being dominated by COVID-19, the Innkeepers made it well known in advance that our reservation could be canceled or moved to another date. However, we were informed that if we did decide to continue with our trip, that our health and safety would taken into account and measures were already in place to make us comfortable with the current situation. My wife and I decided to still go and break up the monotony of staying at home and we are so glad we did! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Ryan who made sure that we had a care package with hand sanitizer and a list restaurants nearby offering take out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He answered all of our questions and showed us around the Inn. Our room was beautiful and the rest of the Inn was quaint and cozy. We in particular enjoyed the quiet location and ease of access to downtown and the lake. The Inn was exactly what we needed for a quiet getaway, in a charming village with scenic landscape around us. Marc and Sherrie were very hospitable as the owners of the Inn. As avid bike riders, they have a bike club house that is well appointed and a great spot to store your bike if you decide to bring it. We brought our tandem bicycle and were given recommendations of where to ride in the area. We ended up doing a loop around the perimeter of the Lake, taking our time to stop and enjoy the sights. There are many quiet country roads nearby and Ommegang Brewery is a short trip out of town for a well deserved recovery drink afterwards! Thank you Marc and Sherrie for making our trip special, maintaining and running a beautiful historic Inn, demonstrating concern for your guests health and safety and displaying such great hospitality. We look forward to a return...
Read moreIf I could award 6 stars, I would! My wife and I visited The Inn at Cooperstown for their Bed & Brew Weekend package over Valentine's Day weekend along with 6 other friends (and it was also my wife's Birthday on Saturday). Sherrie, Marc and their wonderful staff (Ryan and Vicky) took care of our every need, and by every need I mean going above and beyond to help me surprise my wife. In speaking with Sherrie the day before arrival, I sought her help on flowers for Valentine's and Balloons and Cake for Saturday's Birthday surprise. Without skipping a beat, she directed me to Mohican Flowers and Schneider's Bakery to see if they could help pull it off on short notice. Sherrie and her staff then handled taking delivery of all items, having the flowers in our room upon arrival, the balloons at our beer dinner at Brewery Ommegang and the cake ready in the parlor upon returning from the dinner. Everything went off without a hitch!
As to the Bed & Brew package, it was amazing! The weekend was sold out and filled with wonderful, beer loving people. The Friday night bottle share was loaded with tons of great beers that was consumed in our souvenir Ommegang glasses. The discount coupons to Council Rock Brewery were put to good use on Saturday. The private VIP tour and beer dinner at Ommegang was like nothing I've ever experienced (and I've been to a lot of breweries and beer dinners), and the swag was off the charts too (custom growler filled with whatever Ommegang beer on draft that we wanted, clothing from the brewery's store and more glassware). We almost didn't have enough room in our vehicle to bring everything back home!
The location of The Inn is perfect. The rooms were not lacking a thing. The breakfast was tasty. And an unbelieveable time was had by all!
Thanks again for a memorable trip, Sherrie,...
