Amazing dining experience for my husband & I who were celebrating our wedding anniversary by visiting the beautiful cozy town of Cooperstown, NY. We had plans to dine elsewhere but that establishment was closed for the season. We looked for somewhere close by and, happily we found this little gem! We concur with other reviewers who praised the food and service. Our server Patrick was just exactly who you want to greet and seat you & serve your meal. We didn't have reservations since this was a last-minute decision but we were seated with a smile right away. I just want to give a shout out to the great music playing in the background throughout our meal. The classics by Sinatra, Louis Armstrong & Dean Martin do add alot to the ambience. The delicious bread & oil appetizer was a good start too. Our entrees were stellar. I had the salmon in a tarragon cream sauce with a mango salsa & mashed potatoes and it was divine! My hubby had the haddock Parisienne, which was also delicious. To round out our meal we had the pistachio cake with an espresso and both were so good! We noticed, too late, that we weren't even charged for the dessert! Thank you, Patrick! Great overall experience that we hope to repeat on our next visit to this...

I called on Monday at 6:40 pm to make a reservation and asked for a table of 20 to follow my sister in law’s wake on Wednesday. I was told that they could accommodate us. We showed up and to our surprise they had no reservation for our party. I showed them the call I made at 640pm with their number and a 2 minute call on Monday and the gentleman’s response was “well you’re not in our book, sorry”. To show up with my family after such a tough day to be told we can’t help you was absolutely the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Another couple came outside and told us that they had the same experience last night for a party of three. Absolutely no excuse for this. I spoke with a gentleman and he confirmed my reservation. How do you tell a family sorry we can’t accommodate you on such an emotional day?!. No real apology and don’t even attempt to help us. Disgraceful. Kudos to Upstate Bar and Grill for accommodating us at a moments notice, they deserve your business not Toscana

The restaurants reply to this post is not truthful. More concerning they avoid the truth and don’t even take responsibility. One more reason to choose one of the many other...

We were in Cooperstown for the first time recently and celebrated our anniversary dinner here. What a wonderful restaurant! Immediately I was struck by the busy, upscale vibe, with just the right amount of noise. I also loved that there were sconces on the walls with REAL candle pillars, which probably had to be change ever night or two. A very nice touch. We ordered the chicken parmesan, at the suggestion of a local in the area that we had bumped into. It was HUGE and soooo good! It also came with a huge side of pasta with tasty vodka cream sauce. I ordered one of the specials, which was a seabass over mashed potatoes. The fish was cooked perfectly and seasoned ok, but sadly the potatoes weren't very hot, and overall taste of the dish was just average, with a high price tag of $54, which is why the food is the only part I gave a 4 rating vs 5. The chocolate mousse dessert was delicious though! Dan was our server, and provided us with what service SHOULD be at an upscale restaurant, but unfortunately often isn't. He was both pleasant and present. We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we went back a few days later to just get...

I always enjoy coming here. The dark quiet atmosphere is very soothing. The food is always top notch and the portions are extremely big. You are not going to leave this place hungry. Unfortunately, my last visit was not exactly up to par. Our server’s name was I believe Hayden. not exactly if that was his name because he never introduced himself. I’m going by the name that was printed on the receipt. Once seated at the table, he arrived very quickly and took our orders promptly. The food was delivered in a timely manner. But after we received our food that is when the service went downhill. He never returned to inquire how the food was, to see if we need anything, or even to offer to refill our drink glasses which sat empty on the table through out the entire meal. There was only one other table occupied when we were there and they had a different server. During our dining experience I watched him walk past our table several times, going in and out of the entrance. Even after finishing our meal our plates sat there on the table before another server came over to inquire er were finished and if we wanted the unfinished portions boxed up.

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. My wife and I walked in and asked for a table. Though they were clearly busy and backed up on reservations (which we didn't have), the owner found us a table. Our server, Patrick, is easily in the top five servers I have ever had. Attentive, friendly, conversational. We did not have to wait for a drink or an order at all. He wished me luck in my baseball tournament and made sure our daughter (less than two years old) had enough to eat and drink. The food was stellar. I had the special, a NY strip. It was the best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli and was in heaven. We both cleaned our plates. Next, the desserts. I ordered the cannoli, which being from NJ, I have a high standard for Italian desserts, which they exceeded by leaps and bounds. The wife had tiramisu, which she absolutely crushed. All in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, this was easily a 25.
