Not even sure where to begin. When you step foot in this store, it’s like going back in time. Customer service is a lost art. But there’s still hope! Berger Brothers is just that. Oozing with great customer service. When you walk in, you need to bring your patience hat with you. It’s super busy always, and now I know why. No one does it like they do. The guys behind the counter will spend all day with you if need be to make sure you’re outfitted with exactly what you need. Their inventory is huge, and there’s NO waiting for something to come in. Frank originally helped me with an entire Nikon setup for sports photography. Unfortunately none of the collegiate stadiums allow removable lens cameras. Brad the owner exchanged ALL my gear no questions asked 3 weeks later and Mark outfitted me with a perfect all in one Sony solution. Doug, with the patience of a saint took care of the entire transaction and got me in and out. Even if (which they aren’t) more expensive than a big boxed store, there’s no way I’d ever not support this place. They have what 99% of what retail business lacks in todays world, people who know what the hell their talking about. If you ever need a real camera on Long Island, this is the ONLY place to shop. You’ll want to hand over your credit card after the lessons these guys give you on your new gear. The experience is second to none. Thank you so much Berger Brothers Team!

If I could I would give brad 100 stars. Wednesday before thanksgiving I had my B10 flash hit the deck. Unit was gone. I contacted Brad and he was able to order it and have it overnight and delivered Friday after thanksgiving by 8:30am before I went to the brides house to photograph her wedding. Throughout the entire process he was extremely attentive and positive and made sure that I would have my gear. I can’t stress enough how awesome it is to have locally owned store that are not gigantic corporations that deal with their customers on a direct level. Amazing Brad! You are the best!

I needed a transmitter for my flashes, searched up on Google shopping picked this store. Paid for the item. 6 days later I get a text, not telling me who it was or explaining anything, but instead a picture that looked like the item I ordered, asking if this was OK. It was not, and thank God I knew enough to know, it was not. Come to find out, they dont actually have the item they listed and I bought. Brand new item mind you. Through text message whomever was conducting the messaging, was short and non apologetic like it was my fault.

Top of the line professional grade boutique with experts there to help you make an informed decision and an expert purchase.

You’re a professional that relies on your camera tech and been burdened by those garbage establishments in Manhattan; then this place is certainly a breath of fresh air!

They do camera rentals, accommodate customers who are in the drone business industry whether for entertainment or defense contracting purposes- they can get what you need-the sky is the limit. Just come by Monday to Saturday with a wide eyed imaginative vision and your credit or debit card. They take all forms of payment, but being a past store owner I asked if they take American Express since I have a significant amount of points, their response? Kind of hesitant to take on the purchase with Amex, but wouldn’t mind taking it if it meant earning a new customer. I’m a nice guy and a sweet heart at best, so knowing how abusive Amex is to merchants; I’ll save them the heartache and the outrageous fees American Express charges merchants who accept their merchant pillaging charge card. Haha

Anyways, as a Defense contractor for Ultra High Altitude Defense and Signal Intelligence Systems in the upper limits of the earths atmosphere (75,000 to 90,000 feet in altitude) - I knew exactly what I wanted and was ready to go the distance to find a great, seasoned, and professional team of people who can help me turn my visions of the future of upper altitude aerospace systems into a reality.

I’m a good judge of character to say the least, and you can tell a lot about a person for when they use the word ā€œnoā€ and how it is used.

If I asked ā€œcan you get me _ because my budget is $20,000 but I am comfortable spending $40,000 if you can get it for meā€. I came in there with an unlimited budget and about $30,000 in my nap-sack.

There response (the professional and talented team at Berger Bros Camera) would be answering with an easily expressed answer of yes ; and as the gentleman continued

…he said….ā€we can certainly do just that for you and get you what you want exactly to specific things you require, since we are as you may know, an authorized dealer for the brands and cameras, accessories and other devices that we sell, provide service for and rent outā€.

This is the store you need to shop at. Forget about your past experiences, and forget about shopping online (ew and yuck) so who you going to call when you need something? Because I know that Amazon and all other ecommerce retailers online have a zero telephone customer service policy across the board.

With the prices being the same as the best prices you can find online or anywhere else, the store Berger Bros Camera had honestly provided a much better pricing for the items I was interested in purchasing them every other source. Bottom line.

And I’ll end on this note, making my rounds and going through almost 27 establishments this week I realized something - this store is brutally honest as the others are not.

How do I know this with absolute certainty that this is actually a true fact? It’s because every other store had never mentioned the Rebate offered by the manufacturer for the items I was interested in-and that makes sense. As other shops keep running their dishonest sales practices, there days are soon to be over for they cannot pick up Pennie’s in front of a steam Roller forever. Everyone else in the industry just got shown their true colors and they’re all dishonest: especially B&H, and other major retailers.

I had a highly disappointing experience with Berger-Bros Digital Photography & Video, particularly with President Brad Berger, regarding a potential purchase of a Sony a6700 body ($1,400) and Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 lens ($600) bundled with a Mack 5-year Diamond Warranty.

Initially, Berger-Bros agreed via email and phone response to include the warranty at dealer cost, which I confirmed with other retailers to be approximately $165 for this equipment. To the contrary, Brad's $240 quote matched standard mid-retail pricing (12% of the $2,000 equipment value), not the agreed-upon dealer cost. The Berger Bros. quote was a misrepresentation of our verbal agreement.

Additionally, during a follow-up call to finalize the purchase, Brad Berger had not confirmed inventory availability beforehand, causing further unnecessary delay. His response to my follow-up inquiry about the warranty pricing was dismissive, denying dealer-cost warranties is available, despite prior agreement... and then insisting his $240 offer represent is actual dealer cost.

Follow-up emails have gone unanswered.

Brad Berger also asked me to pay by check or cash to avoid credit card fees to his store... eliminating Buyer credit card rewards.

This experience lacked any degree of professionalism and transparency one should expect from a reputable camera retailer.

I would recommend any potential buyers to explore other options to avoid this unnecessary headache.

Summary of Dissatisfaction

Initial Agreement Misrepresentation:

Buyer stipulated from the start that the warranty must be at dealer cost, not retail pricing, and Berger-Bros mutually agreed to this condition.

Buyer and Brad Berger, President of Berger-Bros Digital Photography & Video, agreed over the phone that the Mack 5-year Diamond Warranty for a Sony a6700 body ($1,400) and Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 lens ($600) would be provided at dealer cost.

Pricing Discrepancy: Berger-Bros quoted $240 for the Mack 5-year Diamond Warranty, which aligns with standard retail pricing (approximately 12% of the equipment’s $2,000 value).

Buyer confirmed with other camera retailers that the dealer cost for the warranty is approximately $165, indicating Berger-Bros substituted mid-retail pricing instead of the agreed-upon dealer cost.

Buyer requested prompt disclosure of Berger-Bros’ actual dealer cost for the warranty and fulfillment of the original agreement.

Brad Berger responded dismissively, denying that warranties are sold at dealer cost and claiming efforts to satisfy the Buyer, without addressing the pricing issue.

No further response was received from Berger-Bros, despite Buyer’s follow-up.

Buyer Beware! $125 repair that I gladly paid after my XT2 became loose. When I bought it home and took it out of the box and put a flash on it, it became loose again. I returned with the camera the following Tuesday as that’s the only day that repairman comes, I asked him could you please explain to me what happened with this camera because it’s loose again. I asked him please tell me what you had to do so I can understand what is wrong with my camera. He said that he screw two small screws on the back of the camera. Those two small screws are underneath where the flash would be sitting.. $125 that repair man screwed in small screws. When I asked him, why is it moving still He said it must be something inside underneath that mount on top of the camera, which is exactly what I thought he would be doing opening that mount on top of the camera to see what was going on, but he said no he could not do that. It was too intricate that it would need to go back to Fuji and that for 35 more dollars, he’d be happy to send it back to Fuji to get me an estimate as to what it would cost to repair. Berger Brothers built from years ago. I have no idea why I did not get a phone call about The fact that the source of the movement really could not be found without Fuji getting involved and all they could do was tighten which I could’ve done. Also, if I knew. I don’t believe this should’ve been $125 repair, I Do you believe they should’ve called me To explain the repair that was necessary and now that repair does not equate to $125 Buyer Beware Be very aware when you go in with any service. They are going to charge you whether they tighten the screw or they do the big job. I believe that Berger Brothers knows that we don’t understand how to fix our camera and they take advantage of that. If I could give Zero Stars for customer...
