Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym is widely regarded as the "Mecca of bodybuilding" on the East Coast of the United States. Founded in 1987 by Bev Francis and Steve Weinberger, the gym has grown from a modest 5,000-square-foot space into a 30,000-square-foot facility filled with state-of-the-art equipment. The atmosphere is inspiring, with walls lined with photos of bodybuilding legends, creating an environment that motivates both beginners and seasoned pros.
What sets Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym apart is not just its world-class infrastructure, but also its dedicated and welcoming community. The gym attracts a diverse range of athletes, from amateurs to Mr. Olympia champions like Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman, as well as celebrities such as Dwayne Johnson and Jennifer Lopez. I had the incredible opportunity to meet and talk to the great Brazilian athlete Rafael BrandĆ£o when I visited the gym. It was an unforgettable moment ā speaking with someone I deeply admire, in a place that represents the very heart of bodybuilding. His humility and presence only added to the inspiring atmosphere of the gym.

I came to visit Bev Francis's Power House on a day pass. The cost was $30, there is plenty of parking and the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. I immediately knew I was at home!
I was very impressed with just about everything the Gym had to offer, but what really stood out to me was the HUGE, vast selection of modern and retro machines they have. Everything works, feels smooth and there were so many options to choose from to adjust to your training needs.
The people who attend Bev Francis's Gym are very friendly, down-to-earth, kind and courteous. I noticed that there was not one--not a single-- weight plate, dumbbell, etc. that was out of place or put back incorrectly. In this day and age, try going to any Gym today and you'll see litter, misplaced weights on the rack, etc. Not here. The people who attend Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the best gyms I've been to. Tons of equipment and very organized and clean. Definitely one of the top gyms on LI. Just a few improvements needed. Needs a higher quality flat and incline bench with thicker and wider padding. The one used now is a basic one you find at commercial gyms. It's harder for bigger bodybuilders to use such narrow benches and stabilize, maybe a few powerlifting bars as well. Some new rouge bumper plates for the squat racks would also be nice. The current rubber ones seem to old and worn down which can throw off the weight and people slamming the metal ones when deadlifting is very annoying and loud. Another thing which should be an easy fix is bumping the heat up a bit more during the winter. Most injuries happen from working out cold. I see a lot of people in hoodies due to it being a bit chilly in the gym. Regardless this is top tier gym and I suggest everyone to...
