If you wanna go to blink fitness and work out w this franchise - Sure! NP. Go for it. Just DONT Go to this gym for it. This gym is nothing short of a joke compared to others w the same name. The facility is not that big, and its always packed. No matter what time you go. Ive been here at 5AM before the employees even opened the gym after getting off my then overnight shift. Ive been here middle of the day, rush hour and even late at night. It is ALWAYS packed and the machines you want are always taken.
Speaking of machines. This gym for being not such a big facility - manages to have ample UNUSED Space for machines. Especially high traffic machines. Do they order more? No. Do they have at minimum two of the 8 station machines that they have plenty of room for? Not at all. Theres exactly ONE of that machine. And they have a cable fly machine way in the back. Both are ALWAYS Booked. Its a miracle when someones not on it and you can actually get your workout in. God help you if youre trying to do chest on it tho - one side is usually taken.
The squatting area uses foam mats that are so clearly indented and unleveled from all the weight and use it gets. The machine in the back right corner that is largely used for hip thrusts is, such a dumb placement with the support column being in the way that it makes unloading and getting into workout position annoying. Whoever places the machines at the gym needs to be reprimanded cause seriously. You have no concept of space utilization.
Whats more - the clientele here are from the Bethpage/Hicksville area largely and NONE Of them have ever heard of deodorant or a good shower with a wash cloth and soap. They smell, they take up all the machines, and it becomes so hard to just workout in peace here. Now ofc theres exceptions to everything and here and there most days are alright, and there might be downtime. But its never guaranteed and its at random. So theres no picking a good time to come cause it changes everyday.
All in all - if you wanted to go to blink in say like, Farmingdale for example. Sure, they have a good facility and plenty of machines. Even a couple punching bags. People are nice and pleasant enough and donât outright smell rank that you can smell them across the gym. Never had issues getting most machines i need there AND They have machines this sorry excuse for a gym couldn't even dream of having. Machines i didnt even...
Read moreSince the beginning of March, there has been a significant turnaround at the gym, largely due to the efforts of John, the new manager. His implementation of structure and order has been a breath of fresh air for many members who have longed for a more organized environment.
Johnâs proactive approach includes addressing issues that have plagued the gym in the past, such as maintaining a respectful atmosphere and ensuring that all members feel comfortable during their workouts. I have personally witnessed him taking steps to chase out disruptive individuals who detracted from the overall experience.
However, I recently overheard some younger members discussing plans to challenge Johnâs authority following the firing of a trainer. While I understand that change can be difficult, I believe it is essential to consider the reasons behind such decisions. In my observations, this particular trainer exhibited behavior that was not conducive to a positive gym environment. I had previously raised concerns about this behavior with the old management, which further supports my stance on Johnâs actions.
It is crucial for us as members to support John in his efforts to create a better gym experience for everyone. His commitment to addressing longstanding issues is something many of us have been asking for over the years. Therefore, I encourage John to continue his work and remain steadfast in his mission to improve our gym.
Overall, Johnâs leadership marks a positive shift towards a more structured and respectful gym...
Read moreTo all the fellow goers of Blink Fitness, Hicksville, I request you to check your bank accounts after the cancellation of membership.
I have cancelled my membership in June 3rd week. Paid the canellation fee $13.06 (as per that day rate) and trusted that this was taken care by Blink Fitness. In last week of August after I was going through my account, I did see that Blink keeps charging me every month. I went back to blink and asked for assistance and they said that he manager Brian will call me in 24 hrs. I have waited for the call for 3 weeks and they kept charging me for the next month too. I went back after 3 weeks and they said the same that the manager Brian is going to give a call in 24 hrs. They couldn't find the cancellation confirmation paper that was written in June and asked me for that paper from my end. Why would someone hold on to that paper after 3 months of cancellation. I have trusted these guys to take care of the cancellation and they didn't. I didnot received a call from Brian eve after 6 weeks. Today I went back and cancelled and paid the cancellation fee $21.50 (per day rate for cancellation). The customer service is worse and they dont have a sense of responsibility when a customer comes in and asks for assistance. Trust factor is at 0%. For all the Gym goers at this facility, please check your accounts after the cancellation and make sure you hold onto that cancellation...
