We were in the market for a new mattress after our IKEA mattress, purchased just three years ago, began sagging significantly on the edges. The springs had shifted to the point that sitting on the edge made you feel like you were hitting the floor which is clearly a defect (video attached shows the center is fine but the edge is completely sagging). I contacted IKEA customer service to inquire about using the limited warranty, but was told Iād need to bring the entire king-size mattress in for assessment which was not realistic for us to do alone. We decided to just buy a new mattress, given that IKEAās prices are lower than many competitors. The first issue arose during checkout, my husband accidentally selected shipping, and the soonest delivery date was nearly four weeks out. I tried to change it to in-store pickup due to the urgency of needing a mattress, but was told the order could not be modified once placed. So, we canceled and reordered for pickup. What we didnāt realize is that gift card funds are not immediately refunded. We had to wait nine days for the balance to return before we could place the new order. Once the funds returned, I accidentally forgot to apply a discount code on the next purchase attempt. I asked for a price adjustment ā again, IKEA said theyāre unable to make any changes once the order is placed. So we canceled again and had to wait another nine days for the gift card funds to be refunded. To make things worse, the cancellation didnāt go through properly due to what seems to be a glitch on IKEAās website. The order status showed "cancellation in progress," but two days later, we were notified the item was being shipped. We had to go online and attempt to cancel the order again. As of now, Iām still waiting to see whether the cancellation was successful or if weāre stuck with a shipment we tried to stop twice. It has now been 27 days, and after only two minor errors on our end, we're still stuck with: A defective mattress under warranty, Two failed reorders due to IKEAās inflexible system, Website glitches, Multiple refund delays due to gift card policies. This experience has been unnecessarily frustrating. IKEAās platform offers zero flexibility. Tip: Avoid using IKEA gift cards if thereās any chance youāll need to cancel or modify your order. Youāll be stuck in a refund limbo. Bottom line: Iād rather pay more elsewhere for a better customer experience and basic flexibility. After this ordeal, I wonāt be shopping...

I visited Ikea store on 5/3/2022, I'm pregnant women, I have IKEA gift card. I spent 2 hours to put stuffs in the cart. When I got the checkout counter, a staff finished scanning my cart. Then, he said their system had an error with the gift card the day. All counters have same problem with using IKEA gift card the day.
I asked him to keep my stuff in the cart, I told him that I would visit IKEA again tomorrow to pay the stuff. A manager, Christian came there, he said he would hold the cart only for the next day, and they let me leave my name with my phone number. I left my information, then I took a picture of Christian's name tag. He was pretty rude to us. He said only for tomorrow, if I don't show up until the next day, he said he won't keep the cart.
Ikea Sold the gift card for customers, the company has always responsibility to use the gift card. At least, you guys had to put the notice at the store door or any front area that the system didn't work with gift card the day. If you put the notice, I hadn't wasted my time to shop there.
His attitude was very rude to customer, but I tried to understand the system's problem, that's why I said I would come back the next day.
Then, I visited the next day, today on 5/4/2022. The manager, Christian remembered me, then he said that he didn't keep my shopping cart, he kept saying that someone put them back during his lunch time. Then, he said he didn't know who took the cart put back, his attitude was so rude, just said sorry, and he complained that he couldn't keep the cart during lunch time.
I was shocked with his attitude and his non-sincere apologize, and he told me that I could complain to customer service with his service to customer.
It looked like a just 7 years kid attitude. I was disappointed with his responsibility to promise with customers. I will report the discomfort and his bad attitude for customers.
