Regardless of what you order, they deliver what they have and hope that you’ll take it. Today was my third bad experience picking up an order at Main Street Meats. I asked for 2 fillets, trimmed totaling 9 pounds, which would have meant that they each had to weigh about 4 1/2 pounds or some combination of that. When I went to pick up the order, the two fillets we just over 7 pounds. As per the order that I called in a week earlier, 9 pounds was written clearly on the ticket. When I asked for larger ones they told me they didn’t have anything else. I left and went to restaurant depot, but now I need tot trim them. I’m not going back again.
Response... Thank you for responding to my post. I realize you have run a successful business for many years. You have been around for a long time for a reason. However, I do not think you are being realistic in your feedback to me. Had you said, we are busy for the holidays and didn't look at the instructions on your order, it would have been believable. 9 LBS of untrimmed tenderloin, would weigh much less than 7-8lbs, after it was trimmed. The order was a little over $170, which means that they weighed over 13lbs before they were trimmed. This is kind of tough to believe too. Almost 50% of the tenderloins were trimmed off? Wow!
Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I will be coming back

Read moreSo disappointed! I live in farmingdale for nearly 28 years and have been going to farmingdale meat market for 28 years. Today I walked in and there were no customers. There was one gentleman behind the window and the other behind the meat counter, which by the way he was on his phone standing over the counter. I asked for 32 chicken cutlets extra thin. He told me he had the chicken cutlets in the package and they were thin so I told him I have already purchased them and I would like them extra thin. He replied back to me that they can’t do that. I asked him if he can open the packages and pound them thinner, he replied they don’t have a pounder. Farmingdale Meat Market is a butcher that distributes to hundreds of restaurants in Nassau and Suffolk and I am sure other areas. There is 100’s of Farmingdale Meat Market trucks parked in the lot off of Main Street. You don’t have a pounder to pound 32 chicken cutlets extra thin? Or you just didn’t want to because you were very busy on your phone? I left without chicken cutlets stunned and so disappointed as a 28...
Read moreWas extremely disappointed with my latest experience, I ordered in advance about a week in advance osso Bucco 10 pieces at 16.99 a lb. fresh not frozen. When I called to see if order was ready no one could find it, it was either not ordered or never received no one could give me a straight answer on this. I would have gone anywhere else who told me they do get fresh Osso Bucco, Stew Leonard's or Swan Meats, but I was now in a time crunch and could not wait 2 days for anyone else to order the number I needed, so I had to take it frozen from Farmingdale meats, and it was not good. I do not know how long the meat had been frozen, did not get a straight answer on this question either, and I have only ever cooked this kind of meat fresh, but this time around it was not good, the meat was tough and full of tough cartilaginous or tendinous. At the price for this meat, I was very disappointed. My guests also found the meat not as good as on prior occasions I have served it and bought fresh at...
