Tap Room — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Truthfully hate to write this as I go here every year for happy hour with coworkers after our holiday party- this year we went again and I bought 16 shots as well as my own drinks. When I went to close my tab I obviously left my card, but I mentioned that I would pay in cash. My card was run anyway. Being that I had a few drinks, I admittedly instinctively signed my receipt and left a very generous tip- 75 on a 165 dollar tab because I enjoy the place. At the time, (due to those few drinks) I wrote the receipt out as if I was writing down what I was paying in cash. If they would look at the cameras I am visibly using my calculator and counting my cash. I left the cash on the bar, and went on my way. The very next morning I saw my posted charge and I called immediately to try and resolve the matter, very politely. I got bounced around for days waiting for the manager who told me “there’s nothing I can do I can’t take away tips from my bartenders” while I agree with the sentiment- this was not a tip. I was told that I handed the cash directly to the bartender as tip for my large group, (who all paid their own tabs and left their own tips.) i did not hand the money directly to anyone, and they are now claiming that the cameras can’t be viewed that far back. I’m sure they could if money was stolen from them? I intended to leave a nearly 50% tip, and they can’t do the right thing? Their till would have been $240 over, so their bartenders assumed that I left a 190% tip and pocketed it. Why would I not consult with my own group and leave tip on top of all the tips they left? I was there for a few more minutes after coding my tab. Nobody thought a “tip” that equaled the exact amount of my tab was odd? This is very disappointing, I’ve always paid my way there no issue, and I brought them tons of money...

Came here 3 weeks ago and had a hate crime happen to me and my group of friends. The bouncers did absolutely nothing when we first approached them at night saying we were being harassed by a group of men and instead told us “well if you are being harassed then maybe you should leave”. This man in the group proceeded to push one of the girls on the ground after the bouncers were informed we felt unsafe and once again did nothing. Multiple complaints have been emailed to management and corporate of tap room and no response. Putting this here to make awareness and maybe actually have someone from this place take accountability. This company claims to be LGBTQ+ friendly on google when they are very much the opposite. Please never visit this bar if you want to feel like you are in a safe...

Tonight I was walking by with my wife and friends and the bouncer, out of no where, commented on how he did not like my wife’s outfit and further goes on to make very derogatory and racist comment's.

The large “guy” built like a mushroom barely fitting on the stool made us all feel so uncomfortable and awkward.

We then walked into your establishment to see what is so special about it and it was empty, playing music videos? I heard good things about this establishment but I would not bring anyone I know here after tonight. Any positive comments are definitely false AI generated comments. We left within a minute due to this excuse of a bouncer making my wife feel very uncomfortable and unsafe.
