Tre Scalini Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

My family and I 5 of us, went to dinner here tonight. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous to us. Very clean nice restaurant. We were greeted very welcoming we liked that a lot. My daughter picked out a nice champagne for us. We orders appetizer's, baked clams, the bread 🥖 basket was fresh good Italian bread, perfect. We ordered our dinner, they had s good selection of specials, anything we wanted waiter was willing to change it from the menu, to our liking no issues anout or minor differences. we ordered off the reg menu, chicken Francise’, with pasta, chicken cutlet parmigiana with pasta, my grandson order meatballs his go to dinner at Italian restaurants, my husband had rigatoni bolognese(he said was delicious) large bowl plenty of sauce . I had shrimp oregenata with buttered angel hair pasta absolutely delicious, large plates full, we all were very glad about our choices , tasted each others dinner too so delicious!!!! This restaurant is close by our home new restaurant to us, we will be coming here again and again. Moderately priced. Delicious food very accommodating to us. Made a reservation last week for a funeral party for today at 11:15 am. Family coming in from out of town as well. We arrived at the restaurant to find it not open, lights off and no staff in sight. Waited about 25 minutes and no one showed up - all while calling the number - to try to get a hold of someone. Our party of 20 left and went to another restaurant. When I called later this afternoon to find out what happened I spoke to one of the main people and they had the wrong time for the reservation and insisted someone was there at 11:20. The lights were completely off and even if you had a reservation at 11:45 (which we didn’t) you would think the staff would be preparing hours before hand - typical of any restaurant. The staff didn’t sound remorseful at all when I called and didn’t even remember at first that there was a reservation on the books. Do yourself a favor and pick another restaurant to celebrate at because they are not organized at all. My family and I dined at Tre Scalini following my grandmothers funeral this past week. The restaurant was a ten minute drive from Pinelawn cemetery which was convenient for those traveling in from other places. My husband and I own multiple restaurants and were very impressed by the experience we had. From the first time I called to discuss our party of 20+, the owner was beyond accommodating and professional. He offered us a lunch special which included hot and cold family style appetizers, a salad course, a pasta course, and a choice of 5 enters, and wins/coffee/soft drinks at a very reasonable price. They were able to accommodate not only our large party, but also many member’s dietary needs , such as gluten free and vegan dishes. The food was delicious and they service exemplary.
