Dear Harry,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience I had at your estate jewelry store two weeks ago. I brought in my $25k engagement ring to see what kind of offer I might receive. While I understand that the nature of the ring may have made it less desirable for your business, I was nonetheless disheartened by the interaction.
What I found particularly troubling was the phone call I received from Stephanie after I had left your store. She stated that I would get into trouble for attempting to sell my ring at the price I mentioned and claimed that my ring was only worth $400. I was taken aback by this call, as it felt more like an attempt to belittle my ring’s value than anything constructive.
I want to clarify that I have no intention of selling my $25k ring to your shop for $400, and frankly, I was shocked by the tone and content of Stephanie's message. I cannot fathom the purpose behind such a call, nor can I understand why I was treated in such a dismissive and insulting manner.
Additionally, I would like to make it clear that my boss, whom I mentioned in passing, is a very generous person who is more than capable of purchasing my ring at the price I had mentioned. The value of my ring is clearly of greater worth than what was communicated, and I find it unfortunate that your team did not recognize that. In fact, my boss’ Christmas bonus was higher than what he would have paid for the ring, so the notion that this is somehow a problematic transaction for him is both unnecessary and inaccurate.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed, and I will certainly never return to your shop. I feel it is important that you are made aware of how this interaction has impacted me as a potential customer.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Julia
Updated: The interaction was odd, so I did further research. I located the diamond's IGI (International Gemological Institute) etched number and verified it on the IGI website. The results confirmed it was a natural diamond, and the specifications I had were accurate. It's clear the store knew this. However, they attempted to purchase it for a mere $400, falsely claiming it was lab-grown. To add to this, they tried to intimidate me, suggesting I could face legal trouble for my desired price. Their behavior was not only rude and aggressive but, more importantly, demonstrated clear dishonesty. God knows what other scams they have cooking over there on a daily...
Read moreHarry and Stephanie are wonderful to work with! I’d say I’m not a fancy jewelry person but I had a ring that I needed to sell… I went to a few different places prior to HK and I felt brushed off, though I did receive a quote from one of those places. Then I decided to try HK on a whim, because I was at a different store in the same plaza. I was nervous and intimidated, and I was expecting to feel brushed off (like I was at the other places I had went to)… But my experience at HK was completely different. Harry treated me with care and kindness as I talked with him about the ring. He then went on to offer me substantially more than the other jeweler. This was 3 years ago… Then just recently, I found myself with some random pieces of jewelry from my parent’s estate. My parents also weren’t fancy people, but some of the jewelry seemed like it could possibly have value. I went back to HK and this time it was Stephanie whom I worked with. Again, I was nervous because I had hoped to see Harry. But Stephanie treated me with the same care and kindness. Some of my items had worth, but some were indeed costume jewelry, yet Stephanie never made me feel foolish or like I was wasting her time. I give HK my highest recommendation. They were professional, competent, approachable, welcoming, respectful, and, most important me - kind. They also seem to love...
Read moreWent there to purchase a couple of vintage pocket watches. Did not turn out well. Their selection was sub par. Watches without their crystals. missing second hand movement, tarnished and stained outer finishes, scratched and broken dial faces, just deplorable. The lady at the counter had the nerve to ask me, when she obviously noticed my displeasure, " You want a watch that works?" Unbelievable, who buys a pocket watch that does not work ? Only one watch out of all of the ones shown to me was operable. Their brand new jewelry is probably just fine but if you are looking for estate or vintage jewelry don't waste your time. Their prices for the vintage watches were way to high for the condition they were in. I was the only patron in the store and the wait time was over a half hour just to view the items. I purchased three pocket watches else where. They work. No issues....
